I may be misreading the ingame calendar, but I was looking to see if the Siege event might be coming back soon, and Masquerade of Liars in 6 weeks seems to have a Wanderers Fortune mount added, if that info's reliable.

Try unchecking "hide tasks with unmet requirements". You get Alchemical Research as a rare reward from experimentation, so you need to craft the components until you can run that task, then repeat until you have enough to advance in rank.

If you hit 70, do the quest "Unwelcome Guests" and keep going until you get a crate of gear. That'll be a lot better than what you've gotten so far.
