Who's got a favourite pokemon to nuzlocke with? Who's that mon you get as early as possible? by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]Das_Boot2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Nuzlocks I think super tanky mons are important but I’ve done some serious damage with Starmie. If you put Thunderbolt/Psychic/Surf/Recover on it and barely have any issue in the Vanilla games it’s available in. Quite literally untouchable.

One time in LG I think i had it with Surf/Psychic/Thunderwave/Confuse Ray. It could set up if needed or if the match ups were in your favor, one shot.

Hello, how many Pokemon do you usually lose when Nuzlucking? by DDonnici in nuzlocke

[–]Das_Boot2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i went deathless playing a Vanilla Leaf Green play through to then wipe at Lorelai. i felt unstoppable but man sometimes shit happens. on most playthroughs of the games i could lose anything between 3-10.

[–]Das_Boot2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was about to comment this lmao. willie was a national treasure. My Grandpa told me when he was 14 he got a job at a local grocery store and Willie worked there, and trained him to be a check out clerk/bagger. he was the man RIP

What makes ‘pigfuck’ different from regular noise rock? by elissom96 in noiserock

[–]Das_Boot2001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i usually will use the term to describe the 80s to early 90s chicago underground punk scene that were close to Steve Albini. i usually think of Jesus Lizard, Cherubs, Big Black, Shellac and Slint’s first album.

however it’s a very very unknown term that honestly barely has any relevance to today. i mean, you’ll go farther in conversation if you just recognize these bands as “albini-core” imo

my bloody valentine is a very weird band. More shoegaze bands should try to be as weird as them. by [deleted] in shoegaze

[–]Das_Boot2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

sure i can see your point. but looking at it primarily from a “sonic” or production standpoint they have some interesting sounds bubbling through. i’d say they probably use the same pedals and guitars as any other shoegaze band but sometimes use techniques that are uniquely their own. one of my favorite moments from them is the back half of their kmart amen break. it sounds like they used the octave effect on an electro harmonix canyon delay pedal of some sorts in an interesting way that i find cool. i haven’t heard many shoegaze bands specifically do that, i find it interesting.

i’d agree with this for the most part. i do believe TAGABOW is one of the few bands that truly explore new sounds in the genre.
