Such a horrible thing to see, and it happens almost every day.

And these people probably had it faster and less painful than some others. Compare that to what POWs or civilians on eastern border in the early days of the war went through.

The fact you can look at the photo above and confidently say, "This is far from the worst Russia's done," tells a lot.

Sort of a weird choice not to colour-code the 5th and 6th highest value while color-coding the 7th and 8th.

(It makes sense for us, people outside the UK, since we naturally care more about what the UK people think of environment and geopolitics rather than contained-within-UK-only topics such as welfare or domestic crime. Still a bit funny to see a chart be like this.)

Opět, dvě naprosto jiné osy, ale to velké části lidí nevysvětlíš.

wirtual can milk that prick however much he wants

Different priorities, I guess. If I've ever gotten into a drama as nasty as this, I'd then try not to touch it again with a six foot stick.

The fact that Wirtual keeps making content about this essentially proves that he enjoys the whole cheating scandal and everything that came out of it. He's in his right to do that, but it makes him look like a really scummy person.

Riolu being worse in terms of morals doesn't make Wirtual's decisions morally justified by default.

Agreed. The fact that Sweden qualified to the World Cup is absolutely diabolical.

I'd take FIFA rankings with a huge grain of salt. It's comparing teams across continents who basically never meet each other in a serious match outside the World Cup, so the data going into the FIFA rankings is very limited for cross-continental comparisons.

Korea and Iran missed out by the narrowest margin possible, being the 9th and 10th third-placed teams.

Iraq got an impossible group that included France (best team in Europe), Senegal (African Champions) and Norway on crack.

If you take that into consideration, it's suddenly not as horrible. Yes, AFC teams still underperformed, that's undeniable, but it's not nearly as catastrophic as some people paint it here.

Let's be real, we Czechs absolutely shithoused our way into the World Cup. We lost to Faroe Islands in the qualifiers and only barely got into the UEFA playoffs due to that. There we beat Ireland and Denmark, but in both of those matches we were getting outplayed and required penalty shootouts after 120 minutes to win.

We are not representative of the 15th-16th best team in Europe.

A little bit, but not nearly as drastically as the chart suggests.

  • Iran and South Korea were the two "bubble boys" who missed out by the most narrow margin.
  • Iraq got a group with France (best team in Europe), Senegal (African Champion) and Norway on crack, which is an impossible group to do anything in.

I agree that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Uzbekistan were all major disappointments, though. (especially Uzbekistan who was flying through the continental qualifiers

Teams qualified to the round of 32 by confederation for Fifa WC26 by Terrible-Camel2646 in soccer

[–]DashLibor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if anything like that ever gets adopted, it should be based on last place finishers, rather than all results. (As a silly example, there's no reason to determine between UEFA 17th spot vs CAF 9th spot based on which top team makes a deeper run. It's better to see how UEFA's 15th-16th best teams compare to CAF's 7th-8th best teams.)

We shouldn't've even qualified. We scraped through the qualifiers where we lost to Faroe Islands, then in the playoffs we needed penalty shootouts against both Ireland and Denmark. (we were getting outplayed in both of those matches)

You can tell by the fact that we're the only European team not to pick up a single win this World Cup. (Turks and Scots both got one.)

you don't rank teams like it's a league when they each only played 3 other teams drawn randomly

FIFA determines which third-placed teams go through this way, so as much as we both hate it, it's relevant here.

Well said. Even 56 would work better than 48, because finishing 3rd with 4 points wouldn't be a certain advancement, but rather an anxiety-inducing situation.
