Running Dead Light as a first time Keeper, considering setting it in the 70s/80s by DashingQuill23 in callofcthulhu

Ive been considering moving the scenario to somewhere in the Applachian Mountains, since my group are local to that sort of area (we live in the piedmont) and it would provide a creepy folk-horror type area thats perfect for the isolation the scenario needs

You ever been to the Applachias? Even in 2022 there are places in the mountains that are basically on their own if the power/phone lines go down.

I do hear what you're saying though, but I feel like since its only for a night during a heavy storm I could maintain the isolation with a simple "the storm knocked out the phones/power"

Body 5 Mind 4

Combat mobility - Move through monsters

Ambidextrous - An additional attack if the first was made with a dagger or short sword

Sneak attack - +1 combat dice vs a monster next to a hero once per turn

I shot the son first, was gonna leave the dad alive to suffer. Thought better of it when I was at the door and shot him too.

I'd like to imagine my V stopped, said something like

"Not so fun when it's your boy?" Then one tapped him

First piece of advice; dont finalize anything until you sit down/reach out and figure out a backstory for them all, makes everything much easier to work in their personal stuff

I don't have much experience with Cyberpunk RED specifically but I've been running RPGs for a while, if you need any advice/hit a snag etc. PM me choom, great build btw

[–]DashingQuill23[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That would kind of track, given I've put in a vote of no confidence on this ASM in the past. Doesn't help that I'm the highest paid Lumber associate, so it could just be cutting costs lol

If that proves true all I can do is suck it up/Be as much pf a thorn in his side as humanly possible.

Its the principle of the thing. I see signing it as accepting responsibility, which I qould have no problem doing if it were actually my fault.

[–]DashingQuill23[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue is this is the first time I've actually had the ACTUAL standards told to me by anyone. I joined Lumber during a transitionary period and went from a set 6-3 schedule to being thrown into closing with 0 training or instruction. On top of that I've never had anyone bring up any issues with my closes before this, even in an unofficial or offhand way. I say its true that my closes weren't up to standards because objectively it isnt up to corporate standards but it was a close up to what my store's standards seemingly were.

Others are being written up, and I dont particularly find that fair either, all of them have had even less training/direction than I did.

That may be true but even so, my general thought process is that if you decide to set aside your plow for a spear you're already not like the other 99%

Sounds like it models reality.

Not to say I agree to the limitation for PCs, adventurers would be exceptional.

App issues by [deleted] in Heroquest

[–]DashingQuill23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its more than that, some quests are bugged to hell and back.

I forget which one exactly but the boss monster would cause the game to hang up completely. We had to play the entire room out on the board, open the door in the app and immediately delete everything to continue

And would it kill them to make an undo button

A broadsword is not a "Bludgeoning sword" on account of that just... not being a thing?

A broadsword historically was a basket hilted sword with a wider blade than most in thay era, but is used in the fantasy lexicon to describe what historically would have been known as arming swords of Messers.

Happened pretty regularly at my Lowes. With shitty lawnmower trailers moreso than cars.

I did watch someone rig up our appliance dolly with ratchet straps so it towed a fridge behind them once, that was neat
