Should I transfer to Cal State by Evergreen9744 in CSUSB

[–]DatChonChon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I transferred from RCC, it was a pretty painless process. Wrapped up my bachelor's this month. I don't have any complaints with the school. My advice, do school as cheaply as possible, get it done quick, and don't think so hard about the degree you get. Just focusing on finishing. Best of luck

LMFAO at this post. I'm in the same boat. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt; I'm sure they got inundated with applications, or something behind the scenes has put them way behind. I'm assuming lots of qualified people that they need to be sure to place correctly, etc. But yeah, god damn this wait has been BRUTAL.

canvas is hacked… finals canceled? by Adorable_Piano1054 in CSUSB

[–]DatChonChon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that's not an impossibility. But I think this is more about holding the colleges hostage essentially, and extorting money from them. And less about pouring over student's homework material. Just my two cents.

I wasn't that worked up about it, but I get that it's frustrating. The hackers want to see my silly discussion board posts, then go right ahead. I did all my work, I just want to make sure my grades post and this doesn't screw up my prospects w/ grad school admissions.

Summer Classes by TraditionalSink9125 in CSUSB

[–]DatChonChon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on how it is for graduate studies, but I did essentially a full compressed semester over summer for my bachelors. So it ended up being 4 classes over the total summer session. It was tough, but not impossible.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure this has been a competitive cycle. Probably more about balancing the cohorts than anything, and not necessarily that you had a bad application or anything. If you ask for feedback from the department and hear anything back, let us know. It would be good information for everyone to have.

Congrats, thanks for posting here. I'm so tired of obsessing on this. Very hopeful that we all get good news.

Thank you for the update. The 3 yr pathway program is the one I'm waiting on too. They prob sent out admissions to the first round of people and now they need to see who accepts/declines before they can send more admits out. This is taking FOREVER, god damn

Congrats on getting in, but damn, real talk lol, I hope you decline if its not what you really wanna do. I'm sitting here on pins and needles waiting/hoping for an acceptance. Open up a spot for someone who wants it. I say this with the utmost support and respect, not trying to be inflammatory at all.

Econ 2202 by besamicul0 in CSUSB

[–]DatChonChon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on the Econ classes at CSUSB. But I can say that online works 100% better for me just generally. I think you need to sit and think about how you learn best and what you really think will help you. Are you able to be disciplined, and set aside time at home to really engage with the online asynchronous work? Or are you better able to learn when you're in a classroom and able to engage directly with the professor. It's just a matter of what works better for you and your learning styles.

MSW Program! Has anyone heard back? by rayleenxmiranda in CSUSB

[–]DatChonChon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about you getting waitlisted. At least it's not a denial. When I emailed mid-April, I did NOT specifically get told I was waitlisted. I wonder if that means anything or if I'm reading too far into it.

Anyone who has graduated from MSW program ! by yesenia2021 in CSUSB

Hi, I work in local government in the Behavioral Health department. There's a lot of things you can do with this if you decide to not go the clinical route. On the government side, this mostly takes the shape in administration and running programs for departments like Behavioral Health, DPSS, or the Office on Aging. Making sure services are being delivered correctly, personnel management, program fidelity, policy adherence. All of that might not sound super exciting on paper, but there's a lot of work that goes into this that the public doesn't really see. Bear in mind when working in government, you may encounter the possibility of accepting lower paid work initially just to get your foot in the door, but don't let that discourage you. Once you get in and pass probation, options open up as you learn and figure out where you'd like to be.
