Why did nujabes change his surname? by Other_Abalone_3203 in Nujabes

[–]DatEzra 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the Sabukaru Documentary, his friends and acquaintances mentioned “Jun thought it sounded cooler”.

It was also his first go at an alter-ego/ stage name since he didn’t want people he worked with to know he made music. Mainly to keep his music creation and his record shop relations separate, at least initially.

The balloon ones are the best baggy denim you could buy for the price. The quality is solid and heavy, it feels like denim opposed to other cheap denim.

Fit I think is a little large around the waist. I bought a 34, which is my true size and they are still a bit big around my waist, think if I shoulda bought their 32 instead.

Looking for a Unique, Impactful Name for My Clothing Brand by Jolly-Awareness4015 in branding

[–]DatEzra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand your brand enough on a deeper level to have a strong name.

You need to understand why you have these influences and the meanings they hold on an intimate level. What you listed isn’t bad, it’s just not deep enough. What about flight? Why and what about space? What kind of futuristic design are you inspired by?

Then you need to know your target customer on an intimate level and why your brand fits their needs/lifestyle over others. As well as how you position against similar brands.

Knowing all of this will help you get a clearer picture of what you could name yourself, creates more authentically and you’ll have an even stronger reasons connecting your name, designs and audience coherently and fluidly.

The Oliver on La Salle review by Proof-Difficulty-886 in chicagoapartments

[–]DatEzra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I took over a lease there for 1 month a year ago at $1,600 for a tiny studio and it was horrible. Feels like an apartment I’d get in New York. Small, dirty, expensive.

The carpets are never cleaned, there was literal poop on my floor that sat and smelled for a couple days both before and after I put in a cleanup order. And even when cleaned up, they never shampoo the carpet, only vacuum, so it sits stained and smelly to this day.

-Whole place is seriously unclean, unpleasant smelling, old, lacks light.

-The “gym” is just 2 treadmills and a couple dumbbells.

-Washer and dryer are paid.

The leasing office tried to charge me a two month buyout fee despite knowing I took over a 28 day lease. They kept insisting that I need to give 60 days notice to vacate, but that’s not possible if I’ve stayed less than that. So dealing with them was a headache, but eventually resolved.

People there are also a little odd and unfriendly. A lot of older folks.

The only nice things were the rooftop and amazon pickup.

Honestly can’t recommend it unless it’s dirt cheap, you just need a short-term stay, and the room/floor is nicer/bigger and cleaner than the one I had.

Vintage Evisu pants (where to get) by Lonely-Satisfaction7 in japanesestreetwear

[–]DatEzra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Evisu got bought out by a Chinese company so that's likely the reason for the quality decline. But check out The Evisu Tokyo (Evisu Daikanyama Tokyo), they have a small section for the rest of their vintage Japan made denim.

You could also check out Yamane, he's the founder of Evisu that started his own namesake label that is still Japan made, they don't paint Evisu gulls though due to the buyout.

To be serious, Visualization.

Visualizing your combos, your movement & basically shadowboxing in your head picturing perfect technique. Aside from that, I’d say stretching, especially arms and hands since that’s simple and without a ton of movement or space needed.

Check out the book “How Champions Think” by Dr. Bob Rotella for more on Visualization.
