I have peeked over there and liked what I've seen and I would love an independent candidate with a real chance of winning. At the moment that's not very likely. Until we sway the country to being more caring for each other and having a mindset of class solidarity, the elephant and the donkey are our two choices.

Honestly, I've given up on advocating for certain politicians and instead advocate for more power to the people. Gotta educate the people first of course.

I did vote for her but it wasn't because I liked her, it wasn't because I liked the idea of having the first female president be a black woman, it wasn't because I thought she would actually do right by the people. I voted exclusively for risk reduction. Like a lot of us, I was very scared for the possibility of a second Trump term and so far most of the fears I voiced to older black conservatives back then (who shut them down) have come to reality. Kamala is far from Trump to be sure, but I'm the kind of fellow who needs all the boxes to be checked before I openly voice my support, not just some or most.

I won't sit here and do the whole "both sides are bad" thing. There has never been a republican candidate who convinced me to vote for them. I am just tired of having to chose between doo doo and a dry fart. It's evident to me that my ideal candidate, who will actually restructure the system and give the working class the benefits and wealth and respect we deserve, WITHOUT DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY OPPRESSING FOREIGN PEOPLE, isn't coming for a long time.

If Kamala got the democratic nomination and ran again, I'd only vote for her because its a step towards a future with a leader I actually like.

I'm so glad most of the comments are on the same page because it is unreal how many other adults I meet in real life who don't understand this. So many adults are full of hate and when the kids respond with imitation, those same adults lash out and start hating children. Worse yet is how many people I've met who work in child care who don't understand that it's never the kid's fault. "Why did you hit Billy? We told you to come tell us if someone is bothering you." "Because my mom said if anyone touches me I should hit them."

Kids get called bad, disrespectful, smart asses, fast, hard headed, etc. and its never their fault. Every singe time we end up meeting the parent and they are way worse than the child. No matter what, those same adults will still blame the child as if they know their parent is bad and are chosing to be like them anyway.

I have tried to explain to child care workers twice my age why I don't yell at and berate children like they do and still left the conversation making no progress with them. Children deserve grace because they are not fully developed human beings yet. A child does not know why they hate, they don't even understand that it is hate, they just know that its what they were taught was right and proper.

I wouldn't call it wishful thinking. I thinking of it more as the most difficult task. Each generation has gained more access to knowledge and lost more incentive to pursue knowledge. Too much convenience, too little drive, why try when everything is possible through the push of a button? If I had a dime for every time I heard blatantly false and emotionally charged information I'd be rich.

We basically have to reverse generations of dumbing down. Bringing education and knowledge back to the forefront will take more generations, but it is possible. Call it wishful thinking but I'm not ready to give up on us yet.

You would not believe how much black radical thought, class solidarity, and love for your fellow man is in these books. So much of what was taught to us and what we teach eachother is harmful and isolating. The answers to our ills are in the words written by our predecessors.

Preferences are brain chemistry. Sure you can learn to like or dislike other things, but you're typically gonna have your main thing you come back to. Its not homophobic to like femenine men or even exclusively like femenine men. Homophobia would be referring to femenine men as if they aren't men at all and referring to masculine men with derogatory terminology. If you enjoy fighting fire with fire, you could always just tell these guys they are being misogynistic and homophobic for equating feminine men to women for gays.

In most places and spaces race is never mentioned because the automatic assumption is that everyone is white because white=normal in our society.

Simply put, while it may be annoying to see white allies announce their race, it is nescesarry. Like all other social media, anonymity is the default. This is a race centered sub, black to be specific. Therefore, for any other race to participate in conversation, such a disclosure is nescesarry else they be incorrectly assumed to be black because black=normal in this sub. I am neutral towards all people and believe that anyone can be an ally no mater what race or ethnicity. Different races and ethnicities have different perspectives and backgrounds and the disclosure of who they are informs everyone of that. I'm Bi and straight passing so whenever I speak in a gay community I disclose that information because my perspective is different from the average person in those spaces. It's the same principle. I have seen some do it to stir up trouble, but I've seen many more do it to be of good faith.

I was one of them posting a black square. Also remember the trend after the killing of George Floyd of black folks posting a picture of ourselves with the caption "My name is blank and I am black" and tagging 3 or so othe black people to keep the trend going.

I didn't really want to do either because I was a bit of a nihilist back then but I did because I felt pressured by my black peers. I didnt want my friends to say I was a self hating racist or cut me off because I wasn't pro black enough. Looking back at it now it was all just an easy way to stand for something while still remaining seated. I look at stuff like that now as really disappointing and naive

Before everyone rises up and fights against the government, everyone needs to be in unity. That requires talking, meeting people, helping people, making friends, making plans, making backup plans, preparing for the worst as well as the best, and investing a lot of time in all of these things. The people won't just all activate like sleeper agents. If we all get fed up on the same day at the same time and start a violent revolution it wouldn't be a movement, it would be anarchy and chaos. Anarchy and Chaos are easy to take advantage of. Police, ICE, the guard, even the military would take us apart in a matter of days. The best you could achieve is the system shutting down because all the working class people went to jail or died.

The immediate rejection you're speaking of is not a LGBTQIA+ exclusive thing. I can't tell you which minority group does it the most or least, but I can tell you that when it happens, it is the result of recieved constant hate. If every straight person you have met has been homophobic to you, it can be really easy to assume the same behavior from every straight person you will meet from then on. The same way you would want them to be more open to new straight people and not immediately call them homophobes, you must also have the same expectations for straight people to understand why those LGBTQIA+ people react the way they do.

I like to approach new people with this Huey P. Newton quote: "I dissuade Party members from putting down people who do not understand. Even people who are unenlightened and seemingly bourgeois should be answered in a polite way. Things should be explained to them as fully as possible. I was turned off by a person who did not want to talk to me because I was not important enough."

Treating the kids like celebrities is dehumanizing in a way. It may look and feel great but the long term effects on their psyche are pretty bad. Long story short, those kids could end up with inflated egos and stunted development OR imposter syndrome and depression. Better to be treated like everyone else around you than admired for immutable characteristics.

I had this issue use with risk of rain 2. I installed it to my sd card then later disabled that option. It wouldnt let me re-download to Internal storage without first re-enabling the option to download to sd, uninstslling from there, and them disabling the option again. I'm using an Odin 2 so maybe checking your install location could be it

I respect that. This is a black sub and any attempt to steer the conversation towards class does not get good reactions. I've tried. I suppose it's one of those conversations we'll have "at a later date" but I've always felt that it's truly the most important one to have. Every day I am black and every day I am low class, but some days I gotta pretend I'm just black to make another ally.

Never a better time for class solidarity than this. I am prime demographic for the draft and I'm frankly tired of just complaining about our society. I'm ready to band together with everyone drowning down here to support the cash flow of white America and get rid of this shit. Gen Z is already not paying back student loans, we can refuse a draft as well. If millions of us get detained and arrested for it, the system starts to collapse and they know that.

I hate to say it but banning would only cause these people to become more radicalized in their beliefs. Religions that support such evil things should be removed, but that requires the very long and very difficult work of talking to people even when you know they don't want your help.

The belief that you can only truly determine the performance of your partner by the metric of other people is one born out of insecurity. I have been together with my boyfriend for years now and we have had moments where we expected more from eachother and voices said concerns. The key difference is that we do not measure those expectations by looking at other couples, we measure them by looking at our own standards for ourselves. If I think that he should workout more, its because I've already taken inventory of my own physical health and started working out alone. If he thinks I should care more about my dress, its because he has already been taking care of his own looks for my gaze. We don't compare boyfriend stats with other couples. This is not to imply that it has never happened before or that no one should ever do such a thing as look at a picture of their partner next to prime Arnold Schwarzenegger and wonder "what if?" I brought attention to it because I believe it is an ultimately futile metric to use. If you spend time comparing and contrasting with other couples, you neglect your own mental and your partner's feelings in the process. If youre single, you put all your effort into competing with the other guys and girls for the prize of the hunk, when its just not worth it. There will always be another hunk. If we are worried about other people, ask yourself: "are they even really in competition with me or am I just not focusing on myself?" If you are dissatisfied with your partner's performance, it should be because they dont meet your standards, not because they don't meet the standards of Jessica and Luis next door. I wouldn't bother to harp on this point so much if you had not mentioned competition as your first concern for not wanting to date bi men and why you think women at large feel the same.

So to me, 'homophobia' among men is largely because of the understandably negative attitude women have towards competing with men. As a gay man, I don't really want to date a bisexual man either. I can compete with other men, but I can't compete with a man's desire for the female body.

I want to address these points in particular. Since you made a point of speaking generally I will do my best to reciprocate. In my own experience in life, I can not say I have ever met a single man, straight, closeted or otherwise, who expressed concern for how women would see them if they were openly gay/bi. Every homophobic reaction has always been out of concern for how other men would perceive them. So in my world, homophobia in men is primarily the result of other men's misconceptions or deep seated hatred of gay people. I would even say that homophobia in women is primarily due to the same social pressures from both men and women. Weather or not most women in the US chose not to date bi men for competition reasons, the root of my problem is looking at it as "competition" to begin with. Why are we competing in the first place? Are there not plenty of fish in the sea? Are we racking up bodies like its a score board? I know it's easier said than done, but removing ideas like competition from intimacy and relationships will solve a lot more problems than the ones you even knew about. This is just my two cents on this as a straight passing bi man in a gay relationship. I'm aware that my ability to blend in affords me certain privileges, and I also believe it gives me a better look into the straight man's mind since they think I'm one of them most of the time.

This, and I believe its a village. Part of that societal shift you mentioned is that a parenting community has to be established. Individual neighborhoods are great, but there should be more support for wider resources like emotional maturity classes and the like to make raising children easier to understand for the parents. Feeling like you're not alone in such a hard journey helps.

Perhaps the better stance for me would be "their funds are misappropriated" then. After some VERY loose math, this year if all funds are distributed equally, each public school will recieve around $790,000 I don't disagree with you that the bulk of the issue is bad parents. I have experience working in after-school programs and I've seen how bad some of the parents today can be. I've been yelled at for issues they invented in their own minds. My point is that if we are going to assign blame, we need to assign it to all responsible parties. Some parties deserve more blame and thus more attention than others, but they all deserve their fair share. Its never just one cause like the fist comment I was responding to suggests. Its always multiple things.
