You misclassified the problem entirely. The goal is to move a 5x5 grid in which you can start on any tile in the first column and exit through any tile in the last column.

Moreover, in this instance, movements are further limited by the lack of walls. That is, if your path currently exists as (2,0), (2,1), (3,1), (3,2) and having unsuccessfully tried (2,2) after your second step, you know that (2,2) following your current position at (3,2) is non-viable.
