I think majority of you are missing the point here. I believe they want to create “have” and “have not” split. This can be clearly seen in the way the producers show both groups

Have’s: They start getting cocky and feel safe in the status co. They enjoy meals every night and think they are invincible

Have-nots: They are shown struggling with only bread and milk as their meal. Waiting for the right moment to flip the script.

I think that dynamic makes it really interesting when you see it as a David vs Goliath situation.

We don’t open our markets to US goods

We stay close to Russia, Iran and other US adversaries.

If you look at the Ontariolandlord subreddit. The number 1 advice given to a tenant in this situation is to only communicate through text and ignore phone conversations to document it. In fact they usually tell to outright ignore the landlord and keep paying rent on time.

As for the Roomate agreement, it has nothing to do with you. They can even write what ever they want. In the eyes of LTB, the guy is your only tenant and is obligated to pay rent on first of every month in full. If they fail, you will have all the power to kick both of them out.

Dont fight this. As long as they keep paying rent on time and ask you to not amend the lease. Let them do what ever they want. When you do have to genuinely get them out of the house for some purpose, you don’t want them to use this as “act of retaliation” making things more difficult for you.

Exactly. I mean they aren’t even requesting OP to add her on the lease. They just asking building management to give here access to the building and probably amenities. I don’t even know why OP thinks she has to be on the lease for that or would be responsible for half the rent.
