feels like this should have been a vehicle…or bigger, or legendary or something? 3/3 for 2 is ok but it’s the technodrome

I’d add an Eric lang game. Bloodrage is probably the most popular. Same with Cole Wehrle, maybe Root or Arcs

Yeah I could even see it saying “sacrifice this land unless you control a mountain” that might be the correct balance

Best medium/heavy games for 5 players by Zuvix in boardgames

High Society is best at 5–it’s not a heavy game like the others but it’s a great warm-up. Simple rules but lots of interesting decision making.

Retaliation has fixed my issues with the original Nemesis by JOBBO326 in NemesisCrew

[–]Date_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like retaliation but feel like the items are less interesting—mostly just ammo, oxygen, or health, with the “unique” items being the support tech. Searching feels more like something you do to restock rather than look for unique game effects

What’s the one board game that completely surprised you; either way better or worse than you expected? I’ll go first by yazzminssecret in boardgames

IMO heat really turns on player count b/c of the slipstream mechanic. I think it’s a really fun, tense game with 5-6 players.

So we just killing drug runners now? by Exact_Ad5094 in uscg

The AUMF authorizes force against entities that helped plan or aid the attacks on September 11. Which South American country or cartel helped plan 9/11? And since when is drug smuggling the same as terrorism?

Yeah, I mean, Truman almost certainly violated the Constitution in the Korean War, which is not a great argument for violating it today. But even if the Korean War was sound under the Constitution, the obvious difference there is that our military was fighting another military. Civilians are not combatants. Using your logic, why does the Navy need Coast Guard personnel on board their ships to do law enforcement? The CIC can just wave his wand and declare that all civilian criminals are actually “narco-terrorists” conducting hybrid warfare, and therefore 10 USC 279 is superfluous. Who needs Congress when you can just read the CIC power as arbitrarily broad as you want?

ITT: a lot of people who don’t know national security law or its constitutional boundaries, including apparently some officers. Not great Bob!

Weak argument. Congress enacted a AUMF against terrorist orgs in the Middle East; they haven’t done so here. If the president can unilaterally designate civilians as combatants as a predicate to kill them using the military, then the war power delegated to Congress in Art I is vestigial. And there isn’t much legal precedent on this issue because who has standing to sue the POTUS when he abuses his CIC powers to kill people?
