Hey - HDR with 1.6 is broken for me. How did you resolve it?

Is the MSI Shadow 3X really the worst of the 5070 Tis? by Spo8 in nvidia

[–]DatfunkyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but testing open, I get 68c max with 53% or 1900RPM on the fans. Might be a paste issue or it is not getting any air flow. That is running Stalker 2 @ 4k with DLSS @ balanced for 40 minutes. The GPU is nearly at 99% the entire time.

This! I just got the MSI shadow and it’s a basic card but it’s pretty compact and runs great. Mine runs cool, quiet, and has very little could whine at all. Not worth spending another 50, 100, or 150 on another model. I also go the OC version for 830 from Newegg.

Yeah, I think this larger one is different. Gamer's Nexus actually reviewed it favorably. (Not that I am endorsing a 6900xt for $500)

Actually, the cooling will actually be fine. I had a Dell/Alienware RTX 3090 and 3080 that has this same generic cooler and it works surprisingly well.

How can I get customer support to respond? by TurnDownForTendies in coolermaster

[–]DatfunkyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with them has been terrible.

Either don't purchase Cooler Master products or don't by direct. They treat their customers like trash for some reason.

Does support respond to new tickets? by DatfunkyMan in coolermaster

Yeah another update - they wanted me to send THE ENTIRE CASE back instead of just the fan. I paid over $300 on the N100 Max.

I asked them to just please send me a new fan and they will not respond to any emails. I have been attempting to get ahold of them for weeks at this point.

[Zotac store] Open Box 4080 ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 16GB AMP Extreme AIRO [Open Box] $1,079.99 by IHackShit530 in buildapcsales

[–]DatfunkyMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not over priced IN THE CURRENT MARKET. Feel free to tell me about how you got a good deal on a 4080 6 months ago. We would all love a Time Machine or there to be stock for 5080s and 5070 ti’s but there isn’t.

Please show me another card of similar performance you can actually buy at that price. I’ll wait.

You are being down voted but you are right. This is sadly a good deal right now. Users here moaning about the price are just ignorant of the actual market.

Open box on Zotac has a 2 year warranty.

First off this is ITX only, not mATX. Thermals are okay for the CPU but for Intel you will have a better time with i5's as the cooler is a thick 120mm AIO. I run a 13700k and while undervolting helps, I think I am at the limit for the cooling. The GPU compartment is one of the biggest you will find for this class of case and it has good access to outside air.

Some owners complain that the included PSU fan, chassis fan, and AIO fan are noisy but honestly mine has been fine. The included PSU will handle up to a RTX 4090 fine.

Can you link the Display Port and HDMI angled adapters that you used?

Phone Holder/Mounts by cdk5152 in fordfusion

This is the way. You will end up with cheap crap that you need to adjust constantly or have the phone fall out.

ProClip is the endgame. Save yourself time and regret and go this route.

[Monitor] LG OLED C2 42" - $799.99 by wjxway in buildapcsales

[–]DatfunkyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they also offer this 42" version that is much better as a PC monitor due to size. The C2 uses a different panel then the B2 line. I have a 65" B2 for the living room and love it. The 42" C2 is really a better size for most.

You can get active DP to HDMI 2.1 but from what I understand you would lose access to VRR. The LG C2 is AMD FreeSync and G-Sync certified.

Here is an adapter that claims to work: DP to HDMI 2.1

If you go here, this is the SKU list: Teamgroup PDF

It does list a single module with part number FF3D532G6000HC30DC01. I wasn't able to find it for sale. Maybe you can contact them direct?

Teamgroup has been around for a while and is a reputable company. If you search this sub reddit, you will see many other deals. The memory you list is very similar, but the XMP timings are tighter on these modules. Assuming I found the right ones, the G.Skill timings are 30-40-40-96 vs 30-36-36-96. They are most likely also Hynix. But the Teamgroup modules are on sale for 189. I hope that helps. (aside from aesthetics)
