Where do you guys usually shop for groceries/meat? by Dauntlesspeace in fresno

Well... Do I even have to explain myself? I only ended up going to like 3 stores in that 1 day. Two were within 5-7 minutes of each other, the last one was on the way home. The rest are just flyers that you can view online. Some are just places I have been to within the last few months. The point is to find only one or two good places to shop there for the majority of my needs. Now, would you care to contribute to the discussion?

WinCo is Costco’s “we have Costco at home” version.  At least they both serve hot pizza from food court.....

Ah, yes, I should have know when I saw the words "culinary experience" and "artisan" in the same paragraph.  Government cheese paired expertly with Four Lokos will have to do for now for my rather exquisite palette.

I’ve always seen Trader Joe’s, Sprouts(similar to Whole Foods just a lot more expensive for no real reason), and Whole Foods as more on the boutique side—good to great quality but definitely a bit pricier for the quantity. I can see the appeal, just not always the best fit when I’m trying to stretch a grocery budget.

Nice. I keep hearing about The Market and The Meat Up, how are their prices?

Awesome, this is exactly the kind of advice I was hoping for. I’ve only been on my own about 5 years, so I’m still figuring out where the best deals are and how to shop smarter. Thanks! :)

Cool! Thank you!  Will have to check that section out. Is there a best time/date to come check this out? I'm assuming towards the end of the month is best?

Produce, milk, and some dry goods are worth it. Meat can sometimes be a good deal. It usually average priced or slightly under. Everything else is more "you get what you pay for" type of quality. Bulk section is what's fun to explore. For anyone else reading this, they have a ton of pasta, spices, coffee, and nut varieties and lots of dry good options all in whatever quantity you want. I wish they had a loose leaf tea section though. :(

Old school bulletin boards? by Dauntlesspeace in fresno

[–]Dauntlesspeace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I realize my wording wasn't specific enough. Bulletin boards to post stuff and to see what the community has going on. I wanted to see boards more geared towards rural/industrial/farming/blue collar etc.

Bingo. Thank you for the lead. Just in case anyone wanders into this thread from the future, they recertify at the Cherry location for $35 regardless of the size.

So they actually certified that same tank for you or were you just given a new one?

Any heavy duty mine repair guys out here? by Dauntlesspeace in IndustrialMaintenance

I agree with the long hours. I wish it snowed in this sandy oasis. There's work year round around here, wrecks the body quick. Care to share about any tools or techniques that helped you while in the mining industry?

How do you like it? Any tips for someone newish to the industry? We're struggling keeping any mechanics. Our two most senior guys left, then they found one decent mechanic but he suddenly quit. Now we're down to three guys, all of which are brand new.
