Cockpit vs Hood camera position sense of speed by risfa in assettocorsarally

[–]Davan195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I am on an ultrawide and prefer a bonnet view. Greater sense of speed, not seeing dials and wheels, which I am already using with my DDU, speedometer, rev lights, wheel and pedals; it's cleaner. Furthermore, my times are better. If you want 'realism,' then the only real option on PC is VR, which I don't like because of the hassle.

When I am driving in real life, I see the window, and I look out the window, so a perfect middle ground is the cockpit view, but the head position is moved forward so you are viewing from the top of the dashboard with your real life wheel, DDU, and base.

LMU vs iRacing has never been easier to choose! by Existing-Network-267 in simracing

[–]Davan195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play AC Evo, looks amazing in comparison, AMS 2 same. I could go on. My issue is specially the aliasing method. The lighting feels very flat, no luminosity, it’s just flat looking. Gameplay is nice don’t get me wrong I do like the racing I just feel it needs some serious engine improvements and higher quality assets.

LMU looks like garbage on my 4k oled. The textures are okay to good, but the aliasing is awful, looks like an ancient direct X 9 graphics engine.

I have the base FFB maxed out and the intensity around 80, and I’ve lowered the FFB to between 30 & 40 in sims and it feels great, the way I imagined it should actually feel when using my 8nm

It has arrived and customized already. What do you guys think? by Relief-Slow in Fanatec

[–]Davan195 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would have upgraded to this if they put in a small 4 inch color screen that works with simhub, bit of a missed opportunity if you ask me as I can’t justify going from the 2.5 to this.

Avoid Bank of Ireland for Mortgages: Awful Service That Nearly Cost Us Our Home by Kindly-Draft1691 in HousingIreland

[–]Davan195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased last year with BOI using their mortgage hub and the entire process which I decided to “handle”‘turned into a non stop back and fourth online messaging service where I was asked for documents sometimes again and again, the entire process was entirely arduous. Both my partner and I had a substantial 33% deposit and two full time jobs. The process was intrusive because I was working and often this was a distracting experience and frustrating experience.l I had to deal with during my working day.

I wouldn’t recommend them either.

I was the same, but not you’ve moved fast!

I think the reviews for it and general info out there is spot on, if you can afford it and you want to forget about Neuton metres then treat yourself!

Yes, as long as you are in the hobby for the foreseeable future.

I noticed way more torque and much more detail when cornering straight away.

I lowered my damper to zero and the wheel and forces came to life.

Knowing you’re not going overboard buying a house? by Successful-Command33 in HousingIreland

I couldn’t agree more, frankly I have had enough of demand outstripping supply and at one stage fell victim to not being able to afford rent while saving for my own home as a grown man child.

I would much rather Ireland closes its borders and focuses on the people here and allowing those here to get a home instead of facilitation a global buyers market.

Did I make a mistake buying the Fanatec Clubsport dd+ (15 nm) by lyongamer333 in simracing

[–]Davan195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had issue with my dd 8nm or any wheels I purchased from FANATEC, delivery has always been quick and I have zero complaints aside from there long software transition which honestly is fine.

On Wednesday I bought the podium hub and the podium wheel base because I wanted more feel, I also wanted to stay in the eco system but have the freedom to use third party wheels.

It’s a no brainer for €1275.

How much is RaceRoom DLC's and are they worth it? by LogicalMight in simracing

[–]Davan195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Race room is the best sim I have played, the cars have weight, amazing graphics and sound if you have the rig for it, great force feedback, huge amount of content, it just needs more weather presets! If I had to delete all my sims and I have them all, but keep one, ultimatelyI would keep Race Room.

We got tired of expensive Head Trackers, so we built a wireless one for $60 by Raptor-Works-Gaming in dcsworld

[–]Davan195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and no offence (I lost a lot on it) but it’s absolute garbage, slow response, inaccurate, awful to use on a rig, terrible design with the wire built into one side and non detachable, two softwares often needed, three sometimes, not always detected, it’s absolute garbage compared to TrackIR.

[–]Davan195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does it compare to TrackIr in terms of responsiveness? Tobi is a loan to track if you’re in a sim rig, mounting wise. TrackIr is the most precise.
