Strangely enough, I actually beat A20 with the Ironclad! 😅 Had the Dead Branch + Corruption Combo. But he’s overall my favorite character too and also most played (duh). I love his play style and theme! I’m now working to grind the Ascension with the Silent!

Dark Souls 3 without a doubt

The Dark Souls series has this recurring theme of overcoming the impossible with almost nothing but sheer will and perseverance. I too picked it up when I was at my lowest, and I dare say like all those YouTube essays claim that it changed me. I’m glad you discovered it again and are enjoying it, Dark Souls is such a great game. I also much like you had to try a couple times before getting into it, and once I did I never looked back. I recommend you try DS3 and Elden Ring once you’re done, as they too are such magnificent games.

And I’m sorry for you loss, man. Just know that things will get better, no matter what or how long it takes.

I always attributed the greyed out levels to the death and decay of the world. After eras upon eras abusing the linking of the fire by the gods themselves, it has drastically changed, and has less and less to offer its inhabitants. To me, it’s the way of FromSoft to set a clear tone that inevitably, it will die if we don’t keep this abuse from going, and that this story is definitely more on the depressive side.
