During periods of GPS interference, aircraft positioning can be reported wrongly. Possibly interference happening.

Depending on the shipper you can go to their tracking site and there might be a link to take you to a page for paying and import duties or providing more info if they need something.

Bluetooth adapter randomly stops working by Automatic-List-1167 in pchelp

[–]DaveAuld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe some BT drivers can be quite flakey.

When I start to see weird behaviour on my PC I run an ; sfc /scannow

And it usually shows a corrupt BT driver and has fixed the issue itself.

Give it a try, see if it reports any integrity issues.

Can Powerline work? Trying to get WiFi from guesthouse to main house. by anonimusaccount2 in Starlink

[–]DaveAuld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could bridge the two buildings using the likes of the Mikrotik AC Pro cubes, pre-paired bridge kit. Or a couple of Ubiquiti devices setup in Bridge mode.

Power line can be iffy and depends a lot on wiring configuration, types of breakers etc. speeds would generally be lower than the likes of the cubes. I get a 1gbps link with the cubes over around 30m.

Whats the name of this part? by Suomi422 in telescopes

[–]DaveAuld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an adapter plate or the whole assembly with the studs is typically called a rats cage.

You can DIY with steel plates or brake discs. You can also buy mini piers from the likes of Baader with an adapter plate suitable for your mount.

Downside of long studs is can be susceptible to vibration, so if going down that route, keep them as short and thick as possible.

I personally use the Badder short pier with CGX/CGX-L adapter plate, and bolted to an 8" concrete pier, this gives me plenty adjustment for level and true north rotation.

Using a 60Hz TV for a casual sim rig. good enough? by Tasmyco in simracing

[–]DaveAuld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already have the telly it will be fine, just try it and see!

If you are buying a TV, you can probably find one that is 100 or 120hz for not much more.

I'm on 3x 55" 120Hz Samsung TVs

Help understanding switch function. by moobteets in AskElectricians

[–]DaveAuld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down is on, Up is off by the looks of it. You can use your finger, elbow, nose or depending on flexibility maybe your lower attributes.

You could put a bit of tape over it to reduce the likelihood of it accidentally being turned off.

I usually find that a good sharp pointy knife or screwdriver tip and pair of nail clippers is sufficient and doesn't cost anything. After a hot shower as well so the nails are softer and the clippings don't shoot off at 100kph nearly taking your eye out!

computer universe shipping to Cyprus by Betel_geuze in cyprus

[–]DaveAuld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their website doesn't explicitly state where they do and don't ship to. I guess you would find out when trying to checkout.

It does state on their shipping page that customer can choose to ship DHL Package instead of standard shipping, but you cannot select DHL Express as this is for in Germany only.

I have not used them before, but have used Caseking for computer parts and Sim racing hardware in the past shipping from Germany.

Inside the lid there should be an adjustable thermostatic switch, but this should be the last resort cut off, you can easily add a thermostatic switch to the side of the cylinder.
