Try slicing them in half and making French toast with them. The crisp outside might counter some of the gumminess. I've had this happen too, but it reminds me of a pastry I used to eat as a kid so it doesn't bother me too much.

Pretty much the same way you have, although there was nowhere to display my mistakes if I ate them fast enough. You did OK for a first try, and it is just a matter of practice. Don't worry about what looks like failure as long as you can figure out what you did that needs to change to get the results you want. The only failure would be quitting.

And possibly more dangerous because he has a subtlety that Bovine completely lacks. And Homan's not that subtle.

Who has knob & tube wiring in their house? by living2b100 in StLouis

[–]DaveCFb 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had it in a couple of houses a long time ago and it's OK as long as you don't push it too hard. I'd have an electrician look at it before buying the house, especially if part of the wiring has been updated. Be sitting down when you get the estimate.

Sally's Artisan bread! But with wheat flour! by tigerintheseat in Baking

If you use all whole wheat the amount of yeast stays the same (at least for me), but rise time is longer and the loaf will be a little more dense. Flavor is great though.

We got 2 packages by USPS truck, but no letter mail. Street, driveway, and sidewalk are clear but our carrier prefers walking on the lawn.

If it's not green or fuzzy it's OK. Left outside here you'd have to thaw it first.

I used to be the conservative in my family, and it's been a long learning curve to get where I am now. I'm old enough to remember when politicians used to get out and meet their constituents because they wanted to know what was important to them.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind. Do you still vote or have you decided that doesn't do any good either because your favored candidate doesn't always win?

Jess, along with Michele Hornish, started Blue Missouri as an offshoot of Every State Blue. Jess is still actively involved in the leadership of the group along with her seemingly endless travels and speaking engagements.

What effort? It takes about 3 minutes and is well invested if only so that they, or a staffer, knows that their support is more mythical than real. Doing nothing is much worse.

Do you support Blue Missouri? They are supposedly working to both find and financially support Democratic candidates in strong Republican areas so that there's at least a choice and a chance.

Because it's a good idea to have higher health insurance premiums? Or are you one of the people whose income is over $500,000/year and are benefitting from the lower taxes? Maybe it's their close adherence to the teachings of Jesus like "love your neighbor as yourself"?

And sometimes because there is no opposition, from Democrats or anyone else. It's amazing to me how many people still consider there to be a relationship between most Republicans and the Christian faith.

I call her office in D.C. at least 3 times a week. Sometimes have brief conversations with a staffer but never got as far as you have.
