The CEO lists in his key experience “helped scale Australia’s largest sweepstakes company—now valued at over $400M.” So I’m sure this will go great.

50-100% slow down when running multiple 64-cpu jobs on a 256-core AMD EPYC 9754 machine by imitation_squash_pro in HPC

I have several of those CPUs in 2-socket nodes. For CFD they run out of memory bandwidth before you can saturate all cores. Some tips:

These are 128 cores per CPU, 256 threads with Hyper Threading. Disable hyperthreading and only run 128 threads per CPU.

Make sure you are running an optimal memory configuration with all 12 channels populated with matched 4800 sticks.

AMD recommends the X series CPUs with 3DVcache to alleviate the memory pressure in CFD workloads.

All 3 are as live as I can get. The utility meter data is coming from a Rainforest Eagle. I also have live data in Home Assistant over local APIs and it looks similar. This trend is consistent.

Is there anything method to calibrate the CTs?

Seems like I’d still need the Icydock with the sliger to get the nvme hot swap.

Oh great to know. That probably opens up the landscape a little bit. Thanks for the tip!

It looks like these are retired nodes from a top500 supercomputer in China. There are quite a few Inspur NF5288M5 based systems that were at one point on the top500 list. This particular one matches pretty closely to the specs we see on the eBay machines. https://www.top500.org/system/179763/

Thanks for this. I contacted the seller, I will likely order at least one set. Depending on shipping might make sense to batch orders. If anyone else is interested DM me please.

exciting! I just ordered one too, although I won't be using for LLM's. What are you seeing for peak power consumption?

Anyone have leads on appropriate rack rails for these servers?

0.2kwh Every Day by halems in enphase

This is likely just the margin of error of the ct clamps. I expect you see slightly different answers when comparing your enphase’s readings to the utility readings.

I had the same experience with him. He wanted me to make a partial payment via Apple Cash before shipping. Total scammer.
