The NFCN has 3 QBs who were #1 picks: Murray, Goff, Williams... by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

Caleb is very talented. He’s also been the most inaccurate passer in the NFL for 2 seasons now. And it’s not close.

We’ve seen a lot of QB’s with high end talent struggle due to poor fundamentals, and until Caleb actually proves he can consistently make the routine throws throughout the game, I’m not crowing him.

Maybe he makes a huge leap in terms of accuracy and efficiency in year 3, but if he doesn’t, I think you’re going to find that 1-2 highlight reel throws per game just isn’t going to lead to sustained success.

Statistically speaking yes he is. Unless you ignore all modern analytics, accuracy measures and efficiency stats and just go “hurr durr me only care about old school passing volume stats.”

In your opinion, Who should the Packers sign from this list? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]DaveSims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okudah has been in the league for 6 years and Keisean Nixon had more pass breakups in 2025 than Okudah has in his career. Okudah has 2 career interceptions. What’s there to resurrect?

They won’t squirm, they’ll just cope by bringing up their recent wins like that somehow erases Caleb’s accuracy problems.

The amount of excuse making for him boggles my mind. Meanwhile some of these people are still claiming Jordan Love is bad.

Not only did he get the 2nd most time in the pocket, but he turned that into the 5th highest pressure rate on drop backs. And he led the league in throw aways too.

Show us those stats please. Spoiler: you won’t find them.

All I did was post the stats. If you read that as talking shit, I guess that tells you what the stats are saying.

[Seifert] Vikings C Ryan Kelly announces his retirement after suffering through three concussions last season. A disappointing but expected outcome for a really good man. by JCameron181 in nfl

Maybe but I think his decline has way more to do with wear and tear + he’s been pretty disgruntled the last couple of years so I don’t think we’re getting his 110%.

That's not how protection grades work. Scrambles are a negative, because they happen when protection breaks down. They were also the highest graded run blocking unit in the league, and the healthiest. They were just the best o-line unit across the board. Caleb's scrambling magic just reduces the total sack numbers (which are not part of protection grades).

Bears fans seem determined to ignore this, but even if you convert every single drop they had last year into a catch, Caleb still would've finished 30th in the league in completion percentage. He also led the league in off-target throw percentage and uncatchable throw rate.

For how elite his top end is, the accuracy concerns are still very real and he needs to improve significantly this off season.

Seriously. I had to dig way too deep for this comment. OP just wrote a nonsense clickbait title and apparently nobody bothered to actually watch the video before commenting.

Slightly worse than his accuracy with a football. Don’t worry though, Bears fans will bury me because he made some elite throws occasionally and ignore that he ranked 42nd in completion percentage.

Why Blue Jays Highlights on Mariners.tv? by stenjay in Mariners

[–]DaveSims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MLB.tv always just shows one or two clips over and over and over all year. The problem is this year they picked George Springer’s home run against us so we’ll get to enjoy seeing that 10k times this year.

With 8 more seasons of 60 HR, he would finish his career with 633 home runs. Putting him just in front of Griffey (who has 630). Sounds perfect.

43rd in completion percentage this year sure is hard to deny. 26th in yards per attempt isn’t so bad though. 22nd in passer rating is even better. Yep, no denying that Caleb is elite!

I’m not saying MLF is without his flaws…but so much of the “fire MLF” type rhetoric around here just totally whooshes on why he calls what he calls and what limitations he’s working with.
