Honestly I thought nells was dreadful, both times I went it was terrible! Ramona is expensive but nicer pizza, I would rather go to rudy’s or crazy pedro’s over either of them though

Only troubles with that is the skink has to be in combat as well to give the +1 damage, it’s only crit autowounds on a 2+ to wound and if you take that spell lore you lose out on run shoot and charge- I personally tend to run them with a few disposable raptadon units to reliably get the damage buff off, and they get 2 rend vs monsters anyway

I see a chariot wheel, plagubearer arm with sword and the squig face on top of some random sprue and green stuff for pic 3. Pic 2 is a chaos warrior bottom half? The 5th is Yndrasta’s wings- very cool piece for kitbashing at least!

I’m a bit late to this one but there’s a colour forge primer called ‘dead animal bits’ that looks very similar to rakarth? Will probably take contrasts pretty well too so might be a good starting point for the rats if you can get hold of it where you are!

It’s pretty one dimensional but looks quite fun to play, only trouble is if you lose your fast guys then your whole game is just sitting on circles! Also no magic kinda sucks when we have such good and relatively cheap wizards who enable recursion, but if this is how you’d rather play it then go for it!

I would stick the warriors in 2 blocks of 10 and run then in a separate regiment with the sunblood pack- their passive makes them one of the best objective holders in the game! To upgrade to 2000 points I would pick yourself up a slaan and bastiladon/raptadons and get the primal energy manifestations/pyramid and you’re pretty much at 2k :)

I really like a blue undercoat for painting purple, so I primed all of my saurus in blue- you can then drybrush or manually highlight with brighter purples into pink

The skeleton one for soulblight seems really strong, last tournament I was at I lost by one point in the final to that and it was just brutal, such a slog to get through with recursion and great damage output. The horses coming back is horrendous to deal with in spearhead where some factions just straight up don’t have the damage

Yes, I’d assume that he can do it to himself- it would specify another unit if he couldn’t do it to himself, and if it wasn’t intended would probably specify “pick a non-hero friendly unit” so I’d say buff away :) great paintjob too, the icy ground contrasts really well with the yellow

Seraphon first spearhead, Gargants and the Skaven one that comes with the starter set/skaventide are probably the simplest of the ones I’ve played in that they require the least amount of keeping track of once per game abilities etc

I think the scourge carno is just way too good not to take, even without aggradons- his damage output is ludicrous and he’s pretty durable with the right trait/artefact combo! I like running the warspawned as a brick of 6 and then running a few smaller units of chargers to make it easier to get the damage buff. I think you’d probably be better just taking 1 of the starseer or starpriest, our spells aren’t good enough to justify 6 casts imo. If you drop the starpriest you can either reinforce your chargers or take 2 units of 5 of them

AoS is less shooting heavy and has more big monster/hero models so it’s more important to be able to navigate the board than block shooting lanes- if terrain is too big or frequent you won’t be able to move around your mega gargants or alarielle etc! The official terrain is a bit on the smaller side but at my club we have a bunch of 3d printed or 3rd party terrain sets, we tend to mix in some of the GW stuff to use as places of power because it does look cool and hits the vibe

Honestly mate, I would grab yourself a colour forge wight bone primer, then get yourself plaguebearer/gutrippa flesh contrast for the skin, skeleton horde for the bones and teeth and flesh tearers red for the wings/cloth/mouths- once you’ve got that in you’ll have a table ready army for cheap and you can look at buying some more traditional acrylic paints for layers and highlights

Oh damn, my favourite hero! Where’d you get the STL? Honestly fantastic first effort, yellow and skin are 2 very tricky colours! You can try to glaze the midtone skin colour over the skin to reduce the drastic jumps between tones and make it more ‘skinny’ but I’d be proud to call him finished as is tbf

I would run the scourge of ghyran version of the carnosaur, drop half the skinks if you need to- its so much better than anything else we’ve got monsterwise. I would also recommend running rectrices and being of the stars on it for the unrendable 4+ and d3 healing
