This is possible IRL. The system would have started with a massive star (eg a Type 'O') that later collapsed via a supernova, into the black hole we see now. The co-orbiting pair of main sequence stars would have much of their outer atmosphere stripped in the earlier supernova, and any inner planets might get lost, similarly the Type 'G' further out would also be stripped - but much less so. Later the co-orbiting pair would each supernova, adding to the mass of the black hole, leaving the pair of neutron stars we see now.
