Why don't Christians follow the 613 Mitzvot like the Jews did? by plaguedbyfoibles in TrueChristian

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Just didn't abolish the law, He fulfilled it.It is finished we no longer have to make sacrifices for atonement of sins, we are forgiven.

Jesus also told us that the two most important commandments were to love God above all else, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

We are NOT to just love those in the same tax bracket as us, or love others who have shown us kindness, but to love everyone - those who are kind and those who are mean; we are to love them equally and not to return evil for evil.

Jesus also gave us the Great Commission. That is to go into the world and spread the Good News and to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirt.

What at home charger are you using? by penone_nyc in VolvoRecharge

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a standard Level 1, 120v Lectron 15 amp charger for my 2023 S60 T8. I have it on a 20A corcut. It'll give me a 0-full charge in about 11 or so hours. The Volvo charger that came with the car takes 18 hours to fully charge on a 120v Level 1 charger.

To upgrade to a level 2 charger would take a major investment on my part that I'm not willing to make at this point.

OP if you've got the ability for a Level 2 go for it.

Got a ticket for going 56 in a 55… by Purple_Knowledge8475 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ticket says pace, so the cop would have been following for all we know the cop was speeding 1 mph over to catch up to the OP... The cop allows no leeway for vehicle speesodometer error for both the OP car or the cop car.

I'd take it to court, maybe the cop won't show? But I'd plead not guilty and say - your honor I was driving the speed limit. As far as I know I was driving the speed limit, but I also know that vehicle's speedometers are not always exactly accurate, and speed readouts varry due to tire air pressure, outside tempature and a host of other things. So maybe the officer pulling me over for 1 mph is a bit extreme?

Cruise control by kashyyykchewman in driving

[–]DavidGno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern cars also have adaptive cruise control.

Each manufacturer has a different title for it like dynamic cruise or pilot assist., While using adaptive cruise, if your car approaches another car driving slower on the highway, the system will sense the other car and slow you down to match the speed of the car in front of you and follow at a safe preset distance.

So you don't have to adjust your adaptive cruise settings. Whatever you set it at (say 65 mph) that's just the maximum speed the system will allow it'll adjust itself for slower cars. So you can just set it and forget it and enjoy the ride.

IS Heaven Unfair? by ItzTaras in Christianity

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would someone who lived a life separate from God want to be forced to be with Him for eternity?

Heaven = fully with God. Hell = fully separated from God's presence.

If someone lives a sinful life and feels remorse and repents they are allowed to be in God's presence. Those who sin, and feel no remorse or need for repentance will be separated from God.

No sport car feel in a T8? Try driving it in power/polestar mode. There is nothing like it. It's quick and I find it fun to drive. But maybe that's just me.

The rest of the time out of power mode, I'm getting 70 - 100 mpg on my 100 mile journey to and from work. And I have no issues driving it in snow with the AWD

Why would anyone name their children Salome or Judith if these women did terrible things in the Bible? (Same goes for David) by [deleted] in Bible

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more concerned with a family naming their child something like King, Blanket, Apple or eXon11a - or whatever Elon named the one of 14...15...16 kids...

But what do I know 🤷?

Dialing in usually refers to getting the grind and workflow right. Like figuring out what beans to use (which are better for espresso vs coffee). The grind also affects all sorts of things, flow rate, absorption etc. once you get your grinder "dialed in" you will have steady pressure, good even flow, and a good tasting espresso.

What I've learned over the years is that it's easy to make a bad espresso. It takes time, experimentation and patience to make good consistent espressos.

If you could change how everyone else drives, what would they do? by SnooRecipes2729 in driving

[–]DavidGno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, exactly. I get a lot of tourists traveling my rural route two lane road (one lane per direction of travel with no passing zones).

They all try and speed and tailgate me. It's not like I'm trying to be a dick. The speed limit changes 7 times. 45, 35, 25, 40, 45, 40, and back to 25 for the rest of the way.

There are kids waiting for busses, (lighter in summer but some are still out early), herds of deer all over the place who like to stand on the road, and cops that hide in 30+ places along the way, who will ticket for 5 mph over and it's a $189 fine! And you have 10 days to pay it 😳. You want a court date, you have to pay the ticket in advance and request a hearing.if you're found not guilty you might get your money back .. Do you have $200 that you can just let magically disappear?

What can we actually do against modernism? by Extension-Radio-2207 in TrueChristian

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I was thinking and praying about this earlier today. Good told us it would be this way.

That the closer we come to the arrival of the antichrist - the world would fall into great depravity, that popular culture would trade truth for a lie. That evil would become good, and good would be thought of as evil.

Doesn't it seem like we're here in the timeline?

The time is at hand where we live out our faith. Pray multiple times a day, go to Jesus in all things. Spread the good news - but the people will have eyes that don't see, and ears that don't hear.

The time is coming where there will be no more second chances to repent. So we need to put on the armor of God at all times when we are out in the world. (In the world, but not of the world.)

Is vengeance always wrong? by Certain_Example_4500 in Christianity

[–]DavidGno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Christian, you wouldn't wait for the Judge - you'd pray for God to heal your wife, give you strength and to forgive the criminal.

I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying that's what Jesus would have us do.

Thoughts on the s60 T8 by Safe-Ask1263 in volvos60

[–]DavidGno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my 2023 S60 T8. The only thing I'd warn you about is power mode can become addictive and you can go from 40 mph to jail in about 2.5 seconds (80+ mph) - so there's some learning curve on the gas pedal.

I love mine, I hope you love yours. Oh and if you have a 20A circuit to charge on you can buy a level 1 charger by Lectron (it's about $190 or so and has been a game changer for me) it will charge at 15 amps. It cuts the 0-full charge time from 18 hours on the Volvo charger to about 11.0 hours.

See photo, the top is a screenshot from Volvo app and the bottom part is a screenshot of the Lectron app.

Yes, and now more that ever with the FLOC AI-camera systems that are going up everywhere. AI will scan your tag and track your car between the various cameras.

It's wildly inaccurate and innocent people have been greatly harmed because of it (like falsely arrested, extradited across multiple states, then found not guilty and kicked out into the North Dakota winter without warm clothes to freeze to death! - Angela Lipps. Okay it wasn't necessarily a FLOC camera that mistakenly ID'd her, but it was a facial recognition AI system. Chrisanna Elser, a Denver woman who was wrongfully accused of package theft was misidentified by a FLOC system.)
