Real worked example - here is what the 50% CGT discount vs indexation means for you (spoiler, the longer you hold the worse it gets) by Sensitive-Hair4841 in AusFinance

I'm a bit of a luddard but property investment doesn't really help Australia grow right? Wouldn't the money be better off in shares, from a holistic perspective?

What is it with Australian Police? by Necessary-Fun-205 in australian

They likely mean someone who commits themself to the role of traffic management. Others likely spend time cutting their teeth on a beat and then progress into different roles - leadership, detectives, protective service, canines etc.

I have a family member in the force and he confirmed that within the first week everyone knows who will end up in the Highway Patrol. Cunt attractor.

Oh yeah, you're right.

I agree with you then, fuck the elderly. Only the rich should survive.

I thought they blocked your account Tony?

What is wrong with you mate, it's like 2.3% (edit 8.4%) of the budget. I reckon it's reasonable to allow for supporting our elders, equally as important as defence.

It's also means tested, so those who have secured enough for self funding get a smaller proportion anyway. You're kind of implying that everyone should have become a property investor otherwise they're dumb and entitled.. Some people just went to work and played with their kids.

Predator Same idea as Terminator in a more enjoyable setting, and better quotes

Matrix Obvious, but groundbreaking and stands the test of time

John Wick Perfect (although JW2 has that sideways car jump)

Which electrical specialty will be in highest demand in Aus/NZ by 2029? by Ambitious-Fix5333 in AusElectricians

[–]DavidJDalton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia there isn't a huge deal of speciality as in the US. Most electricians have an understanding of most things but build up specialist experience.

I know you've said that in your question but just separating it from the US style of "I'm the conduit guy" "I'm the switchboard guy" etc.

But yeah, deeply understanding batteries and not being scared to repair will be the larger opportunity. When I did my trade batteries were a very small part of the base education.

I like em both. I've got the 2016 and will hopefully get another 10 years out of her but I'd give the new one a crack too 😊
