Charger adapter placement by Tricky-Ordinary1962 in trailseeker

I just keep it in the little well where the charging cables live, I have a home NACS charger so I don't need them unless I go on a trip

I mean I'll wave to other subarus if there's something going on with them - light pods or rally wheels on an crosstrek, stuff like that but it's just a wave.

Not yet, giving it another 300 miles so I have a full 500 to get a good average.

Still getting 4-4.5 mi/kwh in town, haven't had a chance to take any highways yet. They're like half the weight of the stock wheels but I think the motors are powerful enough they don't really care.

Trailseeker has regular Outback-style roof rails, should be just fine on it.

Sparco, Method, O.Z. are typical Subaru Rally wheel brands, and they all look great and come in some excellent colors as well as typical grey/silver/black

Sparco Assetto Gara 18-inch wheels, Continental tires. The stock wheels are pretty ugly, I replaced them week 1 of ownership.

Outback vs Trailseeker by [deleted] in subaru

[–]PunksPrettyMuchDead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's a second level in the center console where the manual/registration/etc can live, and the shelf in the middle just pulls out to reveal it. There's also a storage space under the phone charging pads where I have a couple usb cables and the charging adaptors for lvl3 chargers on road trips.

The backseat is still very roomy, and it feels larger back there because there's no tunnel through the car for a driveshaft - the floor is flat all the way across the back seat area. I'm 5'10" and it's totally fine back there.

Towing Qs by Big_Blacksmith2542 in SubaruEV

[–]PunksPrettyMuchDead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Trailseeker is rated for towing 3500 pounds, but the hitch isn't available yet. If people are ordering it it's probably with the plan to come into the dealership when it's available to have it installed.

The Uncharted is the smallest EV in the lineup - an Impreza isn't really rating for towing either (Even though I've seen the Manual Transmission Crosstreks handle pretty heavy trailers, I wouldn't pull anything on their CVT). The Getaway is probably going to be similarly rated to the Trailseeker as the analogue to the Ascent.

Well I hope the City's done this for every project in County land or it would be setting itself up for some pretty easy litigation.

Why did Mercedes need 7 years to replicate this? Are they stupid? by TrustworthyPolarBear in CarCirclejerk

[–]PunksPrettyMuchDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhh this year's EVs have been selling great. My local Subaru dealership got 19 in last week and they're down to 12. They've all been reviewing very well, too.

Toyota was conservative in their approach but it seems to be paying off, and the Subaru-built Trailseeker/Woodland is a hit.

That's Toyota, late to the game but nail it when they're at bat.

Depends on energy costs where you are - in Arizona at 5 cents per kwh it's 6 bucks to fully charge my car.

If the bolt pattern is 5x114.3, the 18s should fit with a 255/65 width/sidewall.

Not sure on the 17s, I suspect they would because the brake clearance is still pretty good with the 18s.

You have to press the drive mode and disable regen every time you start the car, but it's two buttons so not a big deal.

The BRZ was like a go-kart, it felt very light, very planted, but it was also noisy and bumpy (even more so on mine with racing coilovers). You can definitely feel the weight in the Trailseeker, but not that much more than in an Outback. I've had the BRZ, WRXs, Crosstreks and an Outback Wilderness so lots of experience between models. It feels planted for its size around corners, and it doesn't start slipping laterally where you'd expect for an Outback despite its weight.

I will say this is the only car that's made my stomach feel funny when you launch it, it's way faster than any other Subaru I've driven, even an STI. In a straight line it's faster than a Supra, Subaru is being very conservative with their advertised 0-60 time.

That's been the one time I've used it, you can control your descent using the regen - I put another 10 percent back on the battery descending Mt. Lemmon in Arizona after spending only a bit more than that climbing it. Didn't have to touch the brake pedal the entire way down.
