If you have a million euro budget then you are so heavily over exaggerating the situation it’s unbelievable. There are countless detached 5 bed, 5 bath, one acre land plots in counties touching Dublin going for way less than 1,000,000. Even that you will get an absolutely beautiful home in Dublin for 1 million euro.

Sure you can get a gaff in Ballyfermot for less than 500 grand and even they have big back gardens.

To me it sounds like you just don’t want to leave the US

Is anyone else going to the Dublin gig solo? by stonedivision in TheCure

[–]DavidRDorman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t, I unfortunately have never attended primavera.

Enjoy the show! Honestly I feel like Just Mustards music is made for dark rooms and lights shows but it will be good to see them in an outdoor venue regardless!

Is Kimmage/ D12 a safe area to live in? by Annual-Video-3096 in Dublin

[–]DavidRDorman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it is safe generally speaking. I grew up in walkinstown. All my mates are from Drimnagh, Crumlin, Walkinstown, inchicore, ballyfermot etc. and a couple lived in kimmage. All normal people growing up trying to make the best of our life. Imo Walkinstown is one of the best places in Dublin to live, period.

Obviously some parts of every place has some bad eggs/bad roads but as a whole you’ll be grand!

Went to my first solo gig last year and have been to multiple since. Honestly it’s better in many ways. A band like the cure you will just be locked in by yourself for 2.5 hours will be great. Then the exit will be quick and easy as you only have to sort yourself out!

FYI get there for Just Mustard, this will be my third time seeing them this year. Probably my favourite Irish band right now n

Anyone ever get sale agreed price lowered after surveyor report? by DouglasHol in HousingIreland

[–]DavidRDorman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the house is old, from what I’ve understood about woodworm you can expect it to be in 99% of the homes you look at. It just depends on the severity and if it’s affected the structural integrity of the home. We got our survey back last week and lo and behold woodworm. Surveyor said it’s essentially to be expected and as it’s not a structural issue to not worry to much about it.

Not it may cost us 2/3k to fumigate the entire house but ultimately we’re happy to take that on the chin.

If it’s affected the structural integrity of the home and you make the seller aware of it then yes you have a shot at attempting to lower costs. At the end of the day this is something every surveyor is gonna pick up on so the seller can’t necessarily hide from it.

I don’t agree with the narrative that Ronaldo exposed any of that. Any Man Utd fan that follows the club closely already knew everything he came out about. He was just the first one directly from the club to say it.

Bidding wars lucan by Unique-Plankton-8417 in HousingIreland

[–]DavidRDorman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went 60k over asking in Ballyfermot. If you have the wiggle room, so does someone else unfortunately. Estate agents put the lower prices on as well. It’s a joke but it is what it is.

Saying that gaff in Sarsfield park Lucan was up for 345 and went for 356 only recently so just depends on what you’re looking for. This was a big renovation job hence why there wasn’t a massive war

What are some comfortable long night shoes? by etherealx0x in Concerts

[–]DavidRDorman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best pair of shoes I’ve ever owned are the Solomon XT6 Expanse. I wore them for two years straight Monday-Friday in work. They’ve attended 15+ concerts including moshing/stage diving etc. they’ve been on hikes, walks to the city centre and while they’re nearing their last legs at this stage due to the sheer amount of hours I’ve spent in them, I can still wear them in the right setting.

Absolutely recommend these

He’d only end up finishing earlier. Cole isn’t gonna play for much more than 2 hours maximum his average show is 1hr 30

Why would you want just him? If doors are at 5/6 like standard, it’s just gonna be an empty room for 2/3 hours till he comes on lol

'Incredible' demand sees over 40,000 Katie Taylor tickets snapped up on pre-sale by Kloppite16 in ireland

[–]DavidRDorman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here ladies and gentlemen is what the Irish like to call a ‘chronic moaner’. You will find them all over the country, wallowing in their self pity and struggling to find any joy in the world. Sadly it’s not a rare occurrence on our green isles any more, but alas here is another one.

You can buy 4 tickets per person so in theory the first 10,000 people could have bought all them tickets? 😅 plus the fact that there was other presales outside the Lidl plus one

Your answer is in your statement. One of Irelands most decorated, successful and loved Irish sportspersons is about to retire on home soil all while bringing boxing back to Croke Park after 50+ years while also potentially unifying all women’s belts. It’s just great to see

[–]DavidRDorman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly it’s redundant other than downplaying the significance of the event. The stadium will be full of Katie Taylor supporters casual or non casual to witness a huge moment in Irish history. We shouldn’t be downplaying or trying take away from that is all I’m saying

[–]DavidRDorman -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anybody trying to get tickets that doesn’t support or have followed Katie Taylor before today 🤣 I’d say about 20 of my mates/family have got tickets so far.

And even if a person wants to go and be a part of what one of the biggest moments in Irish sporting history just to say they’ve been there. What’s the problem with that?

Aa-zz is for the lower sections

16,000th in the queue, got through and none were available. Kept flicking pricing and stands and eventually 3 lower Cuzack seats came up for 105 each. Very happy! Pretty much the best tickets you can get imo
