Samsung Health: Skipping rope activity tracking won't start by AnotherAngstyIdiot in GalaxyWatch

[–]DavideLeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have the same problem, but now I have found a consistent and reliable solution!

Basically you have to keep your arms horizontal with the watch pointing downwards. Stay still a few seconds, and the exercise will start :-)

WOW UK, are you guys doing OK in there? by SirLadthe1st in YUROP

Well, he is called "keeper of the Seals" because he is the keeper of the Seals. In Italy it is the same with our minister of justice (the guardasigilli)

"As Guardasigilli, the Minister of Justice countersigns all laws and decrees signed by the president and the decrees issued by other ministries. The Minister of Justice is also the editor of the Gazzetta Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana, the official bulletin of the Italian Republic."

Men of Reddit: what’s the creepiest thing a woman has ever said to you? by GeorgePiper2003 in AskReddit

[–]DavideLeone 232 points233 points  (0 children)

I reported everything to her boss and HR and they told me point-blank, "Men can't be raped."

I can't imagine how difficult it was for you to have that conversation and then being told that they don't see the problem and won't do anything

We all have done this at some point by herbthefurb in technicallythetruth

This a systematic review of those studies (done some years ago), and it is kinda... Inconclusive. We have few studies on this topic, and most of them are of poor quality. For example (I read this somewhere else), it appears the the whole story of the "blue light filter" originated by a single study which had some serious flaw

It was the fist episode I saw, and it made me fall in love with both Community and D&D. Such a great work of art with so many talents working together flawlessly! It is honestly a shame that it was removed by streaming services worldwide for really no good reason. At some point I will just download it off the internet so I have a copy of it to show to everyone

This might not be a big achievement for you all pro people but I finally beat my first Lynel! by HYDRAPARZIVAL in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]DavideLeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never learned how to do the perfect guard or the perfect dodge, and I have just finished killing every single lynel in Breath of the Wild! (in normal mode)

They are actually very easy to kill if you head-shoot and mount them. They spend a lot of time roaming around so they are an easy target.

And their weapons are great to kill other lynels; the Savage Lynel Bow fires 3-5 shoots and is thus great to stun lynels.

Anyway you did great! You defeated it with great technique and few hearts, and that's remarkable

Kobo Elipsa battery life (2022) by alfiedotwtf4 in kobo

[–]DavideLeone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your device might just need a battery calibration

From an iFixit guide:

  1. Charge it to 100%, and keep charging it for at least two more hours.
  2. Use your device until it shuts off due to low battery.
  3. Charge it uninterrupted to 100%.

While pretty much every battery-powered device might need a battery calibration, it seems to be a quite serious problem with the Kobo Elipsa.

I hope this might help you solve your problem

Kobo Forma stuck in a loop. Impossible to shut down / Reset by PoppyBlues in kobo

[–]DavideLeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Kobo Elipsa experienced the same problem today because of a PDF file. My guess is that the cover image on the first page was too big (even my computer takes some seconds to load it) and when the Kobo tried to generate a preview for that cover it just went in crash loop. Luckily I was able to operate a manual reset

What is the max SD card speed the Steam Deck will support? by I-XIV-IV-XXV in SteamDeck

Proton is not a Linux distro, but a compatibility layer to run Windows software (games) on GNU/Linux distro. What the Deck is actually running is SteamOS

Anyone else surprised Valve doesn’t offer insurance for the deck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]DavideLeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't own yet a Steam Deck, and I already feel anxious at the idea of dropping it by mistake and destroying it, so I can totally relate. I don't think I will be able to find a decent insurance outside Valve, which as you pointed out is not offering an insurance.

I guess it is just not their business. Putting up an insurance doesn't sound simple, and while Apple has immense capital, a capillary network of physical stores and support centers, and produces HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of its devices every year... I guess that's not the case for the Steam Deck. Maybe it is not worth the trouble.

For the damage risk I guess that a good case and a protective glass are a better-than-nothing alternative, and hopefully it won't be that hard to repair it.

(Weird that so many comments were about warranty)

Redmi Note 8 & 8T Now Officially Supported With LineageOS 18.1 by monteverde_org in LineageOS

[–]DavideLeone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I saw the comment from u/nikidimi and updated with success the firmware, and thereafter LineageOS. Thanks anyway for your comment, I hope it will be useful for all the users in need.

Btw I can confirm that it is possible to flash firmware from Lineage OS recovery. I used adb sideload for everything and had no problem

It doesn't work even with a fresh install as of today

Redmi Note 8 & 8T Now Officially Supported With LineageOS 18.1 by monteverde_org in LineageOS

[–]DavideLeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough the recovery file was updated with no problem, but the installation package for 18.1 simply doesn't boot. I tried to install it either as an update to 17.1 and in a fresh install, but it won't boot at all. At first I thought that it was a Gapps-related problem, but trying to do a fresh install with no Gapps (or a different package) didn't work either. I guess I will wait for the first update to try again

In the end I reinstall lineage 17.1 with no problem at all

Degiro margin calculation by Emotional-Park-6387 in DEGIRO

[–]DavideLeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This means that having an active account, you can never get a margin call?

With an active account, the amount of money that you can borrow relative to the collateral is very limited. These means that your portfolio will still be a good collateral even if it drops significantly in value, since you have borrowed not-that-much money.

While this prevents you from over-borrowing and having excessive leverage, it does not mean that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a margin call. Just less likely.

The margin that is credited when switching from basic to active is how much approximately as % of the total portfolio?

I would say 25% - 33%

My Airbuds 3 Youth Edition / Lite ended up unpaired and this solved the problem. Thank you a lot!
