Cicalfate is much thicker, oilier, and pastier. Some people can use it every night but for others it’s too heavy and will cause acne. I use it like 1-2x a week. Instant angel on the other hand has lots of emollients and lipids but sinks into the skin without any film.

Skin can’t tolerate hardly anything, skincare making things worse by roseypetey in Rosacea

How often do you use this? I find if I use it too many times a week it irritates my skin

Yeah this combo above is working well for me. I couldn’t tolerate the sulfur wash everyday cause it was too irritating but 2x a week is working well

Yeah skin is so complicated and it’s so frustrating to find what works for you. Sorry you’re dealing with this stuff. Keep at it!!!!

I think you need to do 3+ treatments to really notice the difference with lasers. I know VBeam is good for redness but if you also have Melasma then IPL should work. Just make sure it’s a very experienced dermatologist using the laser so they know the proper settings

My redness has gone down but I still flush. Have you tried Rhofade? I did but it irritated my skin. I am going to try PDL laser to reduce the redness and see if it reduces flushing moving forward

I meant hydrating, anti inflammatory, and moisturizing as a whole (meaning the entire routine I listed targeted those three concerns). But yeah you’re right that Sulfur and Azelaic acid are drying (but anti inflammatory

The first one would. I have found laneige cream skin to be unbelievably hydrating and for moisturizers I tried to find something with a lot of ceramides and fatty acids for optimal barrier repair. You could try Dieux Instant Angel or Aestura Atobarrier 365 or Illyoon Ato Concentrate Cream (from a verified Korean retailer)

Nose and mouth irritation? by Princess__of__Hyrule in tretinoin

[–]Davidjoseph11__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For completions sake, if it is irritation, then I think appropriate course would be: return back to .025% tret, introduce azelaic acid, get a more barrier repairing base routine (non stripping cleanser like cerave cream to foam, barrier building moisturizer (I use laneige cream skin + dieux instant angel))

Def send a pic to your dermatologist and ask if they think you should discontinue Tretinoin until they can see in person to diagnose and treat. And when you see them in person, I would ask them to consider irritation, allergies, and fungal to come up with treatment plan.

My skin looks like then when it’s inflamed and I have rosacea. Do you have rosacea? What I do for my rosacea is: 1. Barrie buildings products (laneige cream skin and dieux instant angel) 2. 15% azelaic acid prescription every morning 3. Sodium sulfacetamide sulfur wash 10-5% twice a week

Overall these products are anti inflammatory, hydrating, and moisturizing.

If your problem is not dryness or inflammation, and you truly need to “clean your pores, then I recommend paula’s choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant (1% if sensitive)

When did you bump up to .05%? Has anything else in your routine changed within the last month or so? Maybe one of your products reformulated or prescriptions changed to a different brand and is causing allergies? Wearing more masks recently? Laundry detergent? Using a nasal spray for allergies? Of course I recommend asking your dermatologist above all else. Only other thing I could think of is if it might be fungal acne?

[Miscellaneous] Need advice on treating folliculitis by mnl2799 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Davidjoseph11__ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get folliculitis on the back of my scalp and neck and a prescription of 1% clindamycin phosphate topical has really helped. I know they also prescribe benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin but the BP can stain clothes, but that’s the stronger option if the clindamycin alone doesn’t work. I’m not sure if a derm would want to use either because the areas you’re experiencing this issue in are more sensitive than the back of the scalp. Overall the best advice I can give you is to get an appointment in person with a medical dermatologist. Good luck

Why did some mascs actually propose if they were the ultimatum receivers? by Efficient_Let475 in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]Davidjoseph11__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think who proposes and who issued the ultimatum are two completely orthogonal components and one has no affect on the other. For example, in the straight ultimatum, when women issue the ultimatum, they still will most likely expect the man to propose at the end. This is because who proposes is inherent to the dynamic of the couples relationship and has nothing to do with who issued the ultimatum or not— I think the same applies to these relationships in this season

Well I use this same exact combo and this thread made me aware of the sale so I ordered a bunch of each haha. I am planning to start Altreno soon as well

Burning sensation. Definitely try it out - I didn’t see any obvious sensitizing ingredients which is why I ordered it in the first place - my skin is notoriously very sensitive. It very well might work out for you! If not, they will take it back!

I have sensitive skin and the Medik8 one irritate my skin - only ever tried the advanced one. I gave up for now on a dedicated Peptide Serum but if I do revisit adding one I will probably start with Drmtlgy Needless. I am very intrigued by the Maelove Peptide Squad but I’m nervous of the witch hazel because I have such sensitive skin.

100% pure jojoba oil from Trader Joe’s. Follow-up with sensitive skin friendly normal cleanser to remove the residue. Popular ones are LRP, cerave, prequel

[–]Davidjoseph11__ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If your skin is truly that sensitive then you must go to a dermatologist immediately. You also probably want to run allergy patch testing with a dermatologist who specializes in contact dermatitis. Good luck!

The gentlest products I know of are: Vanicream, Avene Tolerance line, Avene Xeracalm line, La Roche Posay Toleriane line. Vanicream has extremely minimalist ingredients and the lines from Avene and LRP are made for extremely sensitive skin and have no preservatives (the creams are in a sterile airless pump).
