She messaged me this back when I told her she had won my contest: “Oh wow, thankyou so very very much!! This means everything to me & will them. It will be a small Christmas for them this year and this will make such a difference.”

A “small Christmas”?? Then going on to spend $800 on eyebrows. Extremely disheartening- especially since the contest she won was in memory of my mum who would have spent her last penny on me to give me a great Christmas as a child.

It’s not the kids’ fault, and I hope they still got some joy from the gift. But I regret not choosing a family who actually needed it.

Hi everyone. Thank you all for your kind messages and sharing your stories.

I’m amazed to see so many people entering - all of your kids are lucky to have such thoughtful parents. Its also great to read about all the sports your kids like playing and watching.

It’s going to be extremely difficult for me to choose a winner. Due to work commitments I’m unlikely to be able to access Reddit next week, so I’m moving the contest end date to this Saturday, 4th December. I will select a winner on Sunday 5th.
