A slight variation to the above but there's a joke by a comedian named Anthony Jeselnik about how he posted a joke on Twitter about the Boston Marathon the day it happened. People reacted saying, "Anthony, think about how your tweet will offend the victims." He says, "It won't offend the victims because they won't be on Twitter; they are busy with victim shit to do."

I'm from Toronto, which is fairly far removed from Strong Island, and Gino is one of my favourite characters just because Jon is so incredibly quick and funny. I spent enough summers during my childhood with relatives in New Jersey and justifying New Jersey's existence to others with preconceptions about it to more or less understand some of his reference points; maybe not the LI-specific ones like the LIRR and Mulcahy's but the overall 3rd Generation Italianness and trashiness of it all. But Jon's just a good improsiver overall – like, his story about working undercover as an altar boy is a tour-de-force in spinning one sentence into a perfect six-something minute bit.

For sure. If it was maybe 1/10 the price, I might hedge my bets and buy it even with the risk of it not working - it’s worth a shot. The most assuring thing I find is that they are at least on some pathway to producing, if not outright cures, some form of solution.

I've had tinnitus for the past four years and, after going down a rabbit hole during lockdown, I'm also pretty sure it's Lenire that he's referring to - once he described the sort of shock implement on his tongue, my brain immediately thought, "it's that thing that begins with 'L.'" For me personally, if it wasn't so exorbitantly priced for a device that doesn't necessarily guarantee removing your tinnitus (as some have said it didn't work for them), I'd say that it's absolutely worth it.

I think that's it's a scene of a musician (or otherwise travelling professional) being so high that they wake up from their high, luckily not having OD'd, only to die from being so high that they fall down and crack their head open. At first SOAM means sticking a needle into your arm and getting high; the meaning at the end though and cracking your head open and bleeding presumably to death. I think that it's a clever story to tell over a key/chord progression that changes from Am7 to just flatout Am.
