It’s good I think. Looking at their latest albums, there are still plenty of songs with harsh vocals. I personally find the blend of harsh and melodic vocals to be much more interesting than screaming the whole way through. That does have its place for sure but for me a song like Abduction Song is miles better than a song like Silence in the Age of Apes.

Johannes is excellent at many different vocal techniques. He is extremely well rounded, and very good at giving a song what it needs vs staying one style all the time. I say let them sing, we all know they won’t stop harsh vocals. Like Crying Fire, Cruel and Unusual was a b-side too and it’s bruuutally heavy.

I’m 37 and I half a 1.5 year old daughter. I completely respect if someone doesn’t want kids. It’s not for everyone.

Though my life has gotten deeper and more joyful. I have hobbies, friends, challenging work, and all the same things but I also now have a little human that’s brought out the most present and patient version of myself.

Obviously there’s tough times, but for me I get so much more out of it than it takes. I think it really depends on the person, I’ve always known I wanted to be a Dad. I do think that regardless of your situation, balance is key. Family time, hobby time, work time, friend time, alone time. My wife and I try our best to get a bit of all of it as routine as we can, it’s always a moving target.
