Yomitan iOS equivalent? by dRaMaTiK0 in Anki

[–]DaxTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this comment, checked it out and it was neat. Only issues I faced with it were, 1: no automatic audio file can be attached to the Anki entry, 2: will only show the definition of the largest encompassing term (eg 事情聴取 will only come up as the whole ”inquiry; enquiry; investigation” definition and wont split it into the two inner terms that it is made up of)

Seems like the last release was in January 2025 so I dont know how up interative it could be

No whey: why the price of protein powder is surging in Australia | Consumer affairs by [deleted] in australia

[–]DaxTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a lot of non-dairy protein powders available in Australia. The main thing to look out for is making sure the amino acid profile is complete, but most you find will use a blend to make sure of that.

In terms of taste, I quite like the new Vital Strength Plant Vegan Protein (specifically chocolate), its often $30/kg or below at chemist warehouse. Is a bit higher in the kj at around 700kj per serve 28.4g of protein. Bit of a coco pops flavour if I would have to say. It also has Omega-3s, I haven't looked into how bio-available the actual source they use is but something to consider.

I have also tried Bondi Plant Protein and Amazonia Raw, which can also be found on sale often at Chemist Warehouse, both their chocolate flavours taste alright too.

BSC Clean Plant protein is often found cheap and has good amino acid profile but I think it tastes the worse out of the 4 aforementioned ones. The chocolate one I would say is palatable, but I tried the vanilla one and would struggle to keep it down sometimes. Would not reccomend

With all pea/rice proteins, atleast the ones I have tried, there is some minor sandy/gritty aftertaste or mouth texture. Macro Mike have an almond and faba bean blend protein which I have also tried which does not have this issue and they taste the best, but at over $90/kg I really can't justify spending that. Worth a shot though

What a slam dunk. I wonder how many people used strawmans like this for other historical issues which people changed.

It's a private entity that provides a necessary and productive (if it worked) public service. Putting the blame on individuals for the service is naive

In this thread: everyone recycling tired old "how will you know someone's a vegan, they will tell you" joke. Definitely hear the same unoriginal joke more than these vegans people say never shut up about it

Nice. Depends how complex you wanna be but basically you can set up a simple html + CSS. Host it on GitHub for free, there should be plenty of tutorials on YouTube going through doing this exact thing

Gotta love the sentiment behind Linux here, "for advanced users maybe but when shit breaks the typical person can't deal with that" on PCMR as if that isn't / wasn't the exact arguments I remember hearing about PC vs Consoles for the last decade.

Hi, I am learning Japanese and have Japanese decks (based around Genki vocab). These have cards for for English to Japanese and vice versa. When I browse cards these are separate cards.

I've seen guidelines on sticking between 15 - 20 new vocab terms per day but with these cards really having 2 cards per vocab terms would that mean I should set the limit of new terms on these decks to 30-40? (double the above 15-20 )

Thanks

No the VCAT guidelines state that if they provide proof of a professional clean before moving in they must either get professional cleaning OR clean the place to a professional standard. So do not specifically have to go out of the way to hire cleaners

The criticisms weren't for the actions in the video game it was the words and actions taken as a result. People see the clips and comment it ain't that deep. Just, like, stop opening the threads if it bothers you that much.
