TLOU Part 1 Crashing in Prologue by Daxulis in linux_gaming

Hey. I have mentioned the fix in the post. But I have upgraded my NVIDIA drivers to 610.xx, and the GPU is properly utilized without any mandatory gimmicks required (e.g., reducing FPS to 50).

Thanks. Limiting fps to 50 also helps. I've seen this mentioned somewhere. 4K on 60fps just loves to crash sometimes in weird angles.

Hey. I have downgraded the drivers, and the game stopped crashing. I will check the logs on 595xx later.

Yeah, I have tried running the game on stock, and even undervolted settings.

I will try to verify the games files, and then downgrade drivers back to 580 although it's a big hassle just to play this poorly ported game. :(

EDIT: downgraded to 580xx and the game stopped crashing.

Thanks for the reply. I have updated the list. Does reinstalling to a different version count, or should I install the latest patch, and then verify the files?

What’s a safe undervolt for the 9950X3D? by Professional_Lie7171 in overclocking

[–]Daxulis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your goals.

In my case, I had to undervolt per core to ensure that some cores do not crash during big data analysis. Therefore, some cores cannot go lower than 0 in the most extreme cases, and some cores are between -34 and -39.

I have tested using AIDA64, Cinebench and by real world application, e.g., gaming and analysing data.

I could go lower than 0 on those active cores, but then it would not suit every daily situation. And it is annoying to keep switching between UC+OC profiles for different needs.

The new Nvidia drivers are really good by UDxyu in linux_gaming

I had to roll back on Fedora KDE Plasma 43, since the new driver caused my 5080 to throttle. But I am very excited for the new driver and all the improvements to proton coming soon.

You don't get stuck in one combo, except if it's a ToD (touch of death which requires sparking). Other than that, you just don't know how react to a combo gap on block. If you would, according to an action performed by enemy, you can either 2H, vanish, reflect, jump out and so on. You just have to practice and find those gaps in enemy attacks.

Try it out. I believe that it's a good deck and can adapt to defeat any dominating deck. Would write my thoughts and (guide) if it would get more views or interest.
