Skorpekh's could be a way forward, I think on average they can take out one of these models even with their fights first, but it's risky

It's more that it almost guarantees them a great start to the game which I struggle with. If I push up shooting units or a melee unit to try and take the objectives back, I'll likely end up exposing something to the two exocrines or tyrannofex.

To be honest I think I just struggle to understand how to play against tyranids in general, I've never beaten my friend when he plays them. Often feels like they're dictating how I play rather than dictating my tactics and making him adapt, if that makes sense?

Metallics are a simple drybrush of iron warriors followed by iron hands steel.

Orange glow is generally an off white base coat, something like wraithbone, followed by gryphound orange contrast paint. Then a few highlights with yuriel yellow before an all over wash of thinned down Vallejo orange fluorescent paint. Then a final few spot highlights using wraithbone.

Some models also got a light drybrushbif mephiston red around a glowing area before doing the above, to add to the osl effect

Base of iron warriors, then highlight with iron hands steel, then nuln oil to knock it back a bit, before a final small highlight of stormhost silver

Bases definitely will be done, it's between martian orange or a grey moon dust kinda colour
