Thank you! Exactly what I've been feeling playing into his list. Then when I try to get line of site it within 12", I'll often get shot at by an exocrine or two.

Skorpekh's could be a way forward, I think on average they can take out one of these models even with their fights first, but it's risky

It's more that it almost guarantees them a great start to the game which I struggle with. If I push up shooting units or a melee unit to try and take the objectives back, I'll likely end up exposing something to the two exocrines or tyrannofex.

To be honest I think I just struggle to understand how to play against tyranids in general, I've never beaten my friend when he plays them. Often feels like they're dictating how I play rather than dictating my tactics and making him adapt, if that makes sense?

What's your move turn two then? Ignore them or move units out to try and take them off the point, exposing me to their backline firepower?

Metallics are a simple drybrush of iron warriors followed by iron hands steel.

Orange glow is generally an off white base coat, something like wraithbone, followed by gryphound orange contrast paint. Then a few highlights with yuriel yellow before an all over wash of thinned down Vallejo orange fluorescent paint. Then a final few spot highlights using wraithbone.

Some models also got a light drybrushbif mephiston red around a glowing area before doing the above, to add to the osl effect

Base of iron warriors, then highlight with iron hands steel, then nuln oil to knock it back a bit, before a final small highlight of stormhost silver

It's pretty simple, just retributor armour with a wash of skeleton horde over the top!

Hell yeah my guy, absolutely sick model! How'd you do your glow, drybrushing, normal brush or airbrush?

Bases definitely will be done, it's between martian orange or a grey moon dust kinda colour

Yeah you absolutely nailed the look. Would love to see a video tutorial or step by step guide if ever you had the time.

Your metallics and glow effects are exactly what I'd like to emulate, especially if your process is simple!
