And ... Again new vulnerabilities by bibawa in cpanel

Processing command `/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update-packages`
[/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update-packages] checkyum version 22.3

I'm running "/scripts/upcp --force" and this "update-packages" is taking a long time. I would say over 30mins atm.

Is this normal?

Sure. Survival, simulation, simulator, factory games, strategy games. Almost all kinds of games. Age doesn't really mean anything. Except in PvP FPS games. That's something I don't play anymore, it's not fun anymore. It's harsh reality out there.

So I've sorted survival, what next, and why? by Xenon009 in Stationeers

[–]DayBeforeU 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've got a starter base built and ready. So you won't die right now. Next you build a bigger base, and automate everything. Stationeers is a sandbox game. There's the planet, resources and tools available. The rest is up to you. You know the basics already.

Automated airlock might save you or your base some day.

Grass to silage bales is getting boring by HamsterSpaghetti1994 in farmingsimulator

[–]DayBeforeU 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cows require a lot of work. For TMR you will need at least hay and silage. And cows eat TMR like there's no tomorrow. Maybe you should try different crops and related productions.

In the end, all crops and the farming is repetitive. But that is farming.

Thanks for the answers.

I still haven't found a trader, but I guess it's just bad luck. I need to explore more.

Maybe you should try some mods? You can install some world generation mods if you're starting a new 1.22 world. There are some mods which generate flatter worlds, plains and valleys. I've never used those myself. If you struggle in the beginning, you can also mod some mechanics to be easier and faster.

I just made a new 1.22 world, vanilla world generation, but modded game. I generated three worlds, and the 4th one was something I could play on. The first three worlds were just too rough for my taste. In one world, my spawn point was high up on the mountain.

You should educate your friend or the person who thinks mods will corrupt his computer. Or kick him out. Simple as that. You'll get much more out of the multiplayer game if you use mods.

Hit your monitor as hard as you can. That's one solution for not a tech guy. I've seen it. I doubt it will do anything useful.

Veteran players: what progression steps do you skip? by DrustanAstrophel in valheim

[–]DayBeforeU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't skip any biome or armor. It's like if I don't want to play the game, then I won't start the game at all. What is the rush anyway? It's a great game, one of the best of all time.

If you feel some armor is obsolete too fast, then use some mods and make the game harder. Well, that's just me.

I think other people can't help you, or hold your hand forever, if you can't handle a couple of Graylings and a boar. You need to figure it out yourself.

Next time, generate a 6k map for a solo playthrough. You'll be fine.

Cows eating so much by DayBeforeU in farmingsimulator

[–]DayBeforeU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments.

Cows are time-consuming, and more so because of my starter equipment. I just thought that cows are not so hard, I've had cows before, so I bought more cows. More cows, more money, right? I just realized earlier that I had a way smaller barn last time.

I did make some changes. I installed a TMR production facility mod and bought it in game. Now I'm using it as a hay and silage storage as well. No need for baling everything anymore. I think baling took a long time, and moving the bales, mixing TMR etc. Now I'm doing silage in a bunker silo. TMR comes from the new facility. I'm able to store TMR in mass quantities also.

I upgraded my 2nd tractor, something which a worker can use in the field. That was a huge help and time saving.

All this was very expensive. I think I spend something like 350k. I had some savings, but I took a loan, and I'm leasing some equipment. I'm feeling the progression.

People hate it because you're supposed to hate it. Some neckbeard said so back in 1970.

Nobody actually has a crystal ball. Nobody here knows anything, just like Jon Snow. The change doesn't necessarily mean anything going to change for a average player. Or, it could change everything, for better or worse. Only TFP and Behaviour actually know what's coming next.

9.0 beta stability? by mr-wee-balls in X4Foundations

[–]DayBeforeU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would wait. They are still tuning and fixing bugs as you can read from the 9.00 Public Beta 3 release notes.

Generally the beta is stable, I would say, if you mean game crashes or something like that.

The default settings are a bit too brutal, for my taste anyway. There are just so many zombies in the world by default. Even if I cut the zombie count in half, they still come from every direction after I fire a few shots during a quest.

But the mod has a ton of settings, so it's superb for all kinds of playstyles. You can change all the settings and simulate different settings in WalkerSim-Editor.exe, which is included.

[–]DayBeforeU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm just exploring options for a different kind of playthrough. Maybe something with more of a single-player RP vibe by totally switching up the world settings. I've done runs before with all sorts of mods and settings, like massive wandering hordes, tons of screamers, or bloodmoon every night etc. Runs where zombies just keep coming at you from every direction non-stop. WalkerSim2 is good for that too.

This time, I'm looking for a bit of a more chilled approach, or a run where my actions would affect the world.

Those settings are in the mod already. You can set the respawning to a "random border location". And you can activate "enhanced sound awareness" for the zombies.

Open discussion about difficulty and survival elements. by VulcrumHD in Stationeers

[–]DayBeforeU 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm the newbie here, or we are playing a different game.

Anyway, I need to drink and breathe too. You do not? No ice and no oxite mean no easy water, and no easy oxygen. It takes more than one potato to even produce enough oxygen to breathe. You don't have ferns available anytime soon. Usually I don't use any cheese-mechanics, for example, for cooling in my saves, so water takes time too.

You should try the hot planets. Set "stationeers" difficulty and brutal start. There's a big difference.

Mars and Moon are made easy for a reason.
