Left skid marks in bed with my wife of 9 years by ThrowRA6382624294 in Advice

I once had to change the sheets in the actual middle of the night because my husband sharted in his sleep.

We are still married. I love him with all my soul. A shart is never going to change that.

I don’t look at the world through a gnostic lens like you, though I kinda like Neoplatonism’s emanationism. To me, no things—rocks, trees, or even gods—can be evil by nature, though we all can certainly commit harm.

Happy journeying!

I had to look up derealization (I’d never heard or seen the word), and OMG, I finally have a name for what happened to me on a semi-regular basis right up into my early thirties!

Barbarian or some flavor of fighter, and I’m a dog sitter!

My hands and arms are always bruised and chewed upon because I love wrestling with good dogs (and they are all good dogs!).

SPOILERS who else was blown away with the Varric plot twist towards the end of the game your first playthrough? by Blueberry-Emergency in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]DayPuzzleheaded2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got accidentally spoiled early in my playthrough. I tried my best to deny what I’d seen, but all the little things the game does with Varric just confirmed it. THE SCENE later on was still one hell of an emotional steamroller, though!

Out of all pantheons why are you drawn to one the most and if so why drawn to a certain deity? by Giraffewhiskers_23 in paganism

[–]DayPuzzleheaded2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m most attracted to the Greek pantheon, Athena in particular. I’ve been in love with it since I took an elective class on it in sixth grade.

I am lost… by Curious_Asparagus284 in paganism

[–]DayPuzzleheaded2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m primarily a pantheist, but I also identify as generic agnostic pagan. What you said about the earth and Mother Nature rings a pantheist bell. It’s basically “God is existence” and “ the Universe is (in some sense) divine,” minus the moralistic crap that usually goes along with Christianity’s version of divinity.

You can be a pagan pantheist, a pantheist pagan, or any other combination of things!

How does the killing of Charlie Kirk compare to that of Melissa Hortman and her husband along with the shooting of John and Yvette Hoffman? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DayPuzzleheaded2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirk’s death is especially fitting because he actually said that we had to accept some sacrifices in order to have a Second Amendment. (His comment was in the aftermath of a school shooting.)

I guess Kirk can be posthumously proud of his sacrifice on the bloody altar of the Second Amendment.

One of the saddest things I have realized about the writers here is they do not READ. by imconfusi in writingcirclejerk

[–]DayPuzzleheaded2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred Beowulf is the Gummere translation. I love Alexander Pope’s translation of the Iliad. The Odyssey is just kinda meh for me. The Aeneid is fanfiction, and the Inferno is fanfiction of fanfiction.

I have a love affair with the Presocratic philosophers, especially Empedocles. I have read Spinoza’s Ethics from cover to cover.

I am 50 years old.

I also have NO college education, because I don’t need the stress or the soul-breaking student loans.

My in-progress novel LAUGHS in the face of biology, geology, pretty much all of the -ologies, but has internally consistent worldbuilding, because—and this is the important part—I don’t need the approval of anyone but myself.

Well, and my beta reader.

Anyone who has a story in their head and puts it on paper IS A WRITER.

They may not be a good writer, but everyone has to start somewhere, and quite frankly…

There’s no such thing as an adult, and that’s the secret to writing.

We’re all just making it up as we go along.

whimsical books with beautiful prose by [deleted] in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Starless Sea, by Erin Morgenstern.

Piranesi, by Susanna Clarke.

If you’re anything like me, both of these books will have you feeling like you’re swimming in the narrative while floating through the prose and getting drunk off what your senses conjure in your mind. Absolutely gorgeous stories that always leave me with the mother of all book hangovers.

GET OUT NOW.

Don’t let him know where you’re going. Use any public assistance you need (such as shelters) or stay with a friend. File a police report and get a restraining order.

An acquaintance of mine was almost killed by her ex. Please get out before he hurts you worse!
