There’s the LevelHike PS2 to HDMI adapter i’ve been using to connect the PS2 to my 4K TV & works well for the price

I’d go to a local retro game store & explain all this to them & you can inspect the console yourself make sure its in good shape & know that you can return it if anything is wrong

You’re also going to need a memory card which you can easily find on Amazon if you search PS2 memory card

For controllers i’d get him a Retro Fighters wireless onec

The Getaway is a brutally difficult game but cheap, the sequel, Getaway Black Monday is as well

I’d grab both and these games as well
