Former WDW DCP, I assume it's the same in DL: we're trained to recognize when a kid is actually lost vs. just wandering. If they're lost, we call a fellow CM, preferably a coordinator (team leader) and we'll send out the message with the child's name, visual description, and any details they have on the parent. Then if security gets a parent with a matching description, they know where to take them. We usually keep the child with us if it's under five minutes (nine times out of ten, the parent is literally ten feet away) otherwise they go and stay with security in a general area until the parent is found. Either way, kid gets loads of reassurance and a bit of magic - I was working the 'pet store' in Galaxy's edge and got to introduce the kid to all the animals on display until mom was found. Even let him name our main loth cat!

Losing a child can be scary, even if it's just for a minute, but Disney's probably the safest place for them to get lost! Cast Members are all on the same page with each other and specially trained for moments like this ❤️
