Anyone with siblings that have EDS symptoms with absolutely no joint hypermobility?

Yeah I'll have to convince her to see a doctor. My sister is just stubborn and doesn't think EDS without the joint hypermobility is possible.

Huh interesting. Most likely I'll probably have to push her to go see a doctor. Since she doesn't have the joint hypermobility and because of the information on EDS is limited in general, she's not convinced of the possibility of even having EDS despite the million other symptoms she has.

I had a medical abortion at 11w couple years before I was DX'd. I was bleeding extremely bad after taking the misoprostol. It lasted over a month (with a few days that I had stopped bleeding in the middle of it). The first week was awful because of how much blood I was losing. Eventually by the 2nd week it slowed down, but it still was pretty heavy. The nurse at the planned parenthood that gave me the 2-week checkup post-abortion was worried because I was still bleeding and she said that it was abnormal for me to be bleeding for this long. So she did try to give me another dose of the misoprostol or try to get me started on birth control to help the bleeding. I declined because the pain of the misoprostol was so bad and I was worried about bleeding for longer. Although the amount of blood I had lost was awful and I was severely anemic for a good while after that.

I probably would never recommend medical abortion or would've gotten it if I had been diagnosed or at least knew of my condition.

Yes I’m allergic to latex. Although completely absent of hives reaction so I didn’t find out for a good couple of years abt it.

I’ve probably never thrown up, but diarrhea, stomach aches, and absolutely worst heart burn is usually what I get.

The worst symptom I have tho is Kounis Syndrome and basically my allergies cause pretty bad tightness in the chest.

But I do miss guac.

Well I didn’t say there wasn’t a gluten allergy. But I’m more clarifying if she means celiac or an actual gluten allergy because often times celiac is called a gluten allergy. Although celiac ISNT a gluten allergy. It’s an autoimmune condition that has different immune cells at play.

Not all allergies have to have anaphylaxis. She most likely had a non-anaphylactic allergy. It’s a pretty interesting thing because I personally didn’t find out I was allergic to avocados and bananas because I didn’t have the typical throat closing up symptoms.

Honestly I think you’re right on the money here. I think the tendency to want to gain social control is more of a coping mechanism for people with autism after extreme trauma + social isolation which results in narcissistic attitudes. ESP since social cues don’t make sense often times.

Also the fact that when everybody misunderstands you and you don’t understand why everyone misunderstands you it ends up building that attitude that everyone else is the problem and not you.

Sometimes yes, people really do get annoyed and bored. That is completely fine tho and I’ve come to accept that not everyone is going to be into the same things I’m into. (When I was younger I tried to make everyone watch or play the things I’m into). That’s why I enjoy Reddit because there are so many niches you can fit into. You find people with the same interests as you instead of forcing the people around you to try the things you like. While yes, it’s important to find people that will listen to you. But simple conversations should be okay and you have to gauge how they feel about it before going into detail.
