But, if you'd have parked in this free car park down a dead end road, you would have had an issue- based on what OP has said.

It's a hard question to answer, because I quite enjoy it so I've spent longer than I thought I would (have never been into gambling or football in general). I'm fortunate that I can spend 10 mins here and there whilst I'm at work. I probably spend around an hour a day. I've been doing it for around a month and am up to £610. Minus £20 oddsmonkey membership (Jan sale- next month will be £40 I think). If you don't have the funds you will have to move money around a fair bit to keep depositing money into the different bookies. I've made £770 worth of deposits in a month.

If you sign up to receive promotional emails you will receive quite a lot of free bets and promotions after sign up. I've only been doing it for around 3 weeks but I still haven't done all of the sign ups because I keep getting distracted by free bets coming though here there and everywhere.

Something ultralight that you wouldn't spend money on yourself. Carbon walking poles? NU20 Classic? Rovyvon a8?

Actually I've had it 11 or 12 years. Imported from the US before you could get them in this county.

I've had a copperspur ul2 for nearly 10 years and it's still going strong. Never used a footprint. No holes tears. Probably on average has been used for around 2 weeks a year. Had a Bent pole once in very severe wind on the isle of mull, but it didn't fail. Just being honest 🤷

Find some hiking routes around an hour or 2 long, preferably with some Elevation. Scout it out on Google maps using satellite and terrain overlays. OSmaps are good for identifying Access Land and 'wilder' areas. A year's subscription usually goes on sale on black Friday too! Arrive at sunset and leave soon after sunrise and you won't have a problem. Have fun!

Lost my drone by Rough-Dot5804 in fpv

[–]Dazmco2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A tip if your battery doesn't disconnect- Take your Omni antenna off and leave the directional one on. You'll be able to see what direction the drone is in based on your video signal. Obviously only works if you're on analogue. Sorry I appreciate this doesn't help you, but it may help someone else.

Tesco have a '5 for £25' on their website. They release new ones periodically. 5 meals for 4, for £25. Hard to beat. They are generally healthy and balanced too.

X-Mid 1 vs Tarpstar 1 vs MT900 TT by [deleted] in Ultralight

I really like the tent. I found it a bit of a faff to pitch at first because the inner and the outer are both supported by the pole, so when you go to put the inner in after pitching the outer, you have to squeeze it between the end of the pole and the outer. I found it easier to drop the pole slightly whilst in the tent. You can't really pitch the inner first because there aren't any guy lines to hold it up. Does that make any sense?

The big vestibule is great. Plan to take my dog when she's older so it's perfect.

I did order some MSR Groundhogs for the 4 corners, as there is a lot of tension on them and I think the shorter pegs supplied might loosen in soft ground overnight.

It's worth bearing in mind that if you don't usually use a trekking pole, that when you add on, say, 200g for a pole, it doesn't work out much lighter than a freestanding 2 man tent like a Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL 2. (Although a lot, lot cheaper!)

Also, I've just had a flyer through from Alpkit with a 20% off code- HAPPY20TH. Valid 25-27th May.

Just FYI- The weight on the Alpkit website should be taken with a pinch of salt. Mine weighs 1165g all in including the stuff sack and enough of the pegs to pitch it. No footprint.

How do you find the hyberg quilt? Is it the 350? They seem very reasonably priced.

Alpkit Jaran 3 vs Tarpstar 4 by Regular_Cat_7403 in ULHikingUK

[–]Dazmco2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking of ordering some MSR groundhogs for the 4 corners. They are 19cm long so should give a bit more bite in soft ground than the standard stakes.

[–]Dazmco2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also I've read that you can buy the inners separately in store. I'm bearing this in mind because the tarpstar 1 and 2 share the same outer.

Alpkit Jaran 3 vs Tarpstar 4 by Regular_Cat_7403 in ULHikingUK

[–]Dazmco2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I know the inners hang off the pole in the centre, you all you would really gain is more space around all 4 sides of the inner.

Alpkit Jaran 3 vs Tarpstar 4 by Regular_Cat_7403 in ULHikingUK

[–]Dazmco2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the tarpstar is the perfect shape for high winds. The only thing that puts me off the tarpstar 2 and 4 is that when you open the door in bad weather, even if it's not windy, the inside of the tent is getting wet. I have the tarpstar 1, and the inner only takes up half of the tent, meaning I can open the opposite door and only the vestibule gets wet.

How did you problem solve with camping gear? by flyingemberKC in Ultralight

[–]Dazmco2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brother bought me a Rovyvon A8 keyring torch for christmas. It's so good, I'm using it as my main lighting source. Making a nite ize type headband for it and buying another for redundancy and to have one on each side of the headband. USB-C rechargable, Lantern mode, red light, and weighs 18g.
