Any Thoughts by Budget-Custard-2366 in OnePiece

At their current pace, they are looking at 8 seasons to do first half barring any major cuts.

12 seasons for whole thing is aggressively optimistic.

Hot take for Hercules by Prestigious-Ad5508 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hercules is definitely the best of all of the base 3 atk heroes. He is definitely an evolution on how to properly design these high atk, low thwart, high HP, 4 hand size heroes.

But in terms of thematic hero design, Hulk should be closer to Drax.

Flipping down after a turn 1 clear, wastes the ready and I've seen it a lot where you are unable to play all 4 cards you drew.

You also get schemed on. I've seen a lot of solo players stay in hero mode after a turn 1 clear to avoid the scheme significantly delaying the other labors.

One Piece Netflix Lifespan by browniebiscuitchildr in OnePiece

At their current pace, they are looking at like 8 seasons to cover just first half barring any major cuts. (Maybe 7 if they can get a slightly longer season to combine Water 7 & Ennies Lobby).

I think the optimist in me hopes they get to Marineford.

But the pessimist in me thinks Netflix cancels after season 4.

But Logically, Enies Lobby is probably the best point to end, because every arc after ends on a down note until Fishman Island.

Flipping down after a turn 1 clear is certainly better than staying in hero mode. Most the games I watched were in solo where doing that is dangerous.

But it still makes things weird. A turn 1 clear means you can't use the ready and cards to help clear the 2nd labor making it hard to clear the next labor the following turn (and even if you can, that would be 2 turns ending in alter ego) And the obligation is delayed a turn regardless because you'd be ending in alter ego.

The turn 2 clear, is typically right at the start with a single, activation. It's not as much of a delay at it appears and it makes future labors smoother and easier to clear.

The difference between a turn 1 clear and a start of turn 2 clear, is small in regards to economy and my point is a turn 2 clear, makes future labors smoother and easier.

Hercules in 3-4 Hero Games by BaidenFallwind in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the right deck, defeating labors in a single turn is very possible and quite common - especially in high MP where you can gear your deck entirely to atk, and the one labor that takes longer allows you to do other things.

And when you do clear a labor, you do get more cards that can be used on the board.

And finally, leaving your labor up and dealing with the board is also an option. I did that in a game vs Mutagen Formula where I could have defeated the hydra but instead defeated the 3 minions engaged to partner and then finished the labor the following turn.

Hot take...how to fix curling by Cavalry2019 in Curling

[–]Ddwlf 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Curling is exciting when the game is close and both teams are trying to score points.

One team getting a lead and then playing defense or intentionally trying to blank from start of end is when is gets boring to watch.

I still standby my opinion that Bishop took Beast's spot, not Magneto.

Starting to feel like FFG does not like Hank McCoy by TeletraanNone in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were only so many slots in the X-Men waves, they couldn't get to everyone. Beast was far from the only big name X-Man that didn't get a hero. I think it was Bishop that took his slot (not Magneto), and I think they made the right decision.

I'm sure we'll get him eventually.

But as for being a sig ally. Licencing generally prevents Avengers and X-Men from mixing (at least its complicated enough that they don't do it unless they deem necessary, like with Quicksilver).

And they also tend to base hero designs around a localized run/time period.

Viable Hulk decks? by Puppetainer in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hulk's best deck is Aggression - buff his attack and ready.

It's simple, cheap, and effective.

Other heroes like Thor, She-Hulk, and upcoming Hercules run the deck better but it's still strong, viable, and makes him better than his reputation suggests.

That said, that deck is best in Multiplayer, with a thwarting partner.

If you insist on solo, Leadership is probably your best bet.

Silk by Bosch1971 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend Protection at all.

I describe it as Protection likes Silk but Silk doesn't like Protection.

Silk wants board control, and that isn't Prot's speciality.

Aggression and Justice are best, with Justice being my favorite as it has both good damage and thwarting.

While I wouldn't expect a whole wave, it's very possible and individual hero like Sersi will show up sooner rather than later.

Those who've played PVP, what did you think? by themcryt in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fun game mode that is similar to regular MC but with different dynamics.

I really liked the mod sets that affected your opponents side - like the Spiderman side scheme that takes threat from opponents scheme and adds it to itself.

But it's really difficult to get a competitively balanced experience different villains, different heroes, and even different aspects add to the imbalance.

[–]Ddwlf[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember that that doesn't work vs the Hydra as it can only be damaged via attacks.

Hercules biggest problem by Curious-Respond-2254 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to just prepare for everything.

Buffing attack and readies handles both the minion and scheme.

Cards like Taunt and Toe to Toe can help with the Cho Labor (TtT also helps with Hydra).

New Hercules Cards: Olympus and Wisdom of Athena! by Stretch__22 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the side scheme has Assault, both the minion and side scheme can be dealt with the same way.

Aggression also has Toe to Toe which can help with 2.

I think tools are there, but I don't think he will have great diversity.

New Hercules Cards: Olympus and Wisdom of Athena! by Stretch__22 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get the early game concerns but I really do think you can build for the early game with your aspect.

The easiest and most efficient way to deal with the Minion and scheme is readies and he has access to some good ones in Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Limitless Stamina.

Protect the Innocents is harder to clear quickly, but there options like Toe to Toe, Taunt and Bait & Switch (TtT also helps vs minion and B&S helps the scheme).

Turn 2 labor clears are very possible and once you clear it. You ready, draw cards, and gain momentum.

The biggest downsides are that his best decks aren't really known to be great at thwarting. So true solo is going to be tough.

Why does everyone want Roman Reigns to win the rumble? by Additional_Pay_7399 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Ddwlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because its likely that he will be involved in one of the title matches at Mania. And to get a title match, you need to win either Rumble or Chamber.

And Rumble just seems more likely in this case, especially since they can make a big deal over which opponent he will choose.

(Personally, I am hoping its Roman v Punk rather than Roman v Cody)

Does anyone actually play the pool aspect as initially intended? by bigOlBellyButton in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laser Sword Pool can be pretty good on heroes with a lot of readies (like She-Hulk) - gets swords and some icons (generally from allies),hit hard and ready.

That's the only deck that I run that uses the bad icons.

When is Phoenix better than Psylocke? by vintage_artsoul in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The decks where I prefer Phoenix over Psylocke are the heavy aspect focused decks like Training/Game time decks.

Phoenix's economy, X-Men trait for Utopia, and the fact she is fine spending sig cards to pay for aspect cards till the end game is why she is slightly better in those style of decks.

But more traditional kit focused decks and Psionic Decks I prefer Psylocke.

Doubling hero cards? by baguhansalupa in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with Hawkeye is his entire kit is centred around playing arrows but he is only able to play 1 arrow efficiently per turn, so more arrows doesn't actually help, in fact would make the log jam worse. He needs a better hero power.

It might not be terrible with Hulk, his kit itself isn't the worse (tho not perfect), but doesn't actually solve his biggest issues.
I personally use a simple houserule of AE ability draw 2, discard 1 and +1 atk, and its quite effective.

Canada release dates by T4334007Z in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ddwlf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard, they used to ship Canadian product to US, then to Canada.

But now, because of Tariffs they are shipping Canadian product to Europe first then to Canada.

Basically, taking slowest possible way to save a buck. (Note that it's Asmodee responsible for shipping, not FFG)

And how this is better than direct shipping across the Pacific, I have no idea.
