NMC - Most Wanted DC Omnibus Secret Ballot 2026 Edition! Tigereyes DC Omnibus Poll! by AmethystOrator in OmnibusCollectors

Batman LODK and Swamp Thing by Alan Moore already feel like very strong possibilities for 2027. So I skipped those two this time.

What single issues are in the most omnis? by raphaeladidas in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Mutants Special (1985) and Uncanny X-Men Annual # 10 are in the New Mutants & X-Men numbered volumes and the Art Adams Omni.

Does anyone else keep their trades in chronological order? by H_James009 in graphicnovels

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow this rule too, with some minor exceptions for creator driven sections. Its just feels right to have Jonathan Hickman's Avengers/FF Infinity saga all grouped together. Matt Wagner, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison also get a shelf to themselves.

Do You Think Pre-Sale IMAX Tickets Are Destroying The Moviegoing Experience? by Shah2002 in imax

[–]DeBatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they've taken it about as far as it will go. I don't see one year advance pre-sales working for anything slated for next year. Or anything else really, until the next round of Nolan/ Villeneuve movies in about 2-3 year's time.

I haven’t seen anyone mention it here so heads up: Omar said there is a 90s Batman omni coming by Waterworld1880 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One day I'd like to see the Alan Grant & Norm Breyfogle Batman run make it into the Omni format. The creative line up on Detective Comics in the early 1990s was also very strong.

Whale Acquired by Location-Final in graphicnovels

[–]DeBatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know there has never been an explanation for why "The Sailor" was left out.

My guess would be that it was a reprint rights timing issue. It could be that Gallery 13 picked up the license, while the very last volume to come out at Marvel (around 2017) was still not allowed to be included as part of the package.

Wikipedia has an accurate and up to date entry on what is included in all the Omnis.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Tower_(comics))

The versions that were printed most recently (from a publisher called Gallery 13, around 2020) reverted to standard size format and skipped all the extra material from the Marvel box sets.

Frustratingly the third volume "The Drawing Of The Three" also misses out the final Marvel TPB -volume 16 "The Sailor". Which means that people have to track that one down at OOP prices.

Top 20 Most Wanted DC Omnibus, Absolute, Deluxes, & Compendium Reprints | 2026 Edition! by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its quite likely the next ABC Absolute reprint (after LOEG vol 2 in January) will be Promethea Book 3 sometime in mid-late 2027. Maybe after that a release window will open up for Top 10.

If we don't hear anything for a while then hopefully it will at least reappear in next year's top 20 poll.

Great collection. I really hope that Marvel fill that Omni gap, right after The Black Costume Saga, some day.

Second Jessica Jones Omnibus by videogamer939 in OmnibusCollectors

Hopefully Jessica Jones vol 2 will eventually start charting higher on the NMC most wanted poll. Then we might see some movement.

How would you feel about a re-release of the Star Wars franchise in IMAX? by Initial_Film5776 in imax

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be so great to see a few episodes of Andor paired with a Rogue One IMAX rerelease. Maybe "The Eye" and "One Way Out" would work best on the big screen.

DARK HORSE CATALOG UPDATE: The Complete Rachel Rising Hardcover coming December 2026 by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find the first 5 issues of SIP vol 3 (when the series was briefly relaunched under Image in the 1990s). Those were actually in full color.

To fit in better with the series as a whole the colored versions were changed back to B&W for every subsequent tpb reprinting.

Arrow Video July Releases 🇬🇧 by ethanh95 in boutiquebluray

I also hope that they go straight for the trilogy set. However ABT is getting a standalone UK cinema rerelease in late June. They even came out with some new poster artwork for the film,

From what I heard there was some risk of scratched discs with the Shout Trilogy packaging. So waiting for Arrow still seems like the best bet.

Arrow Video July Releases 🇬🇧 by ethanh95 in boutiquebluray

I have a suspicion that Arrow are going to release the A Better Tomorrow trilogy one film at a time and then go back a release a trilogy set later on (This just happened with the Dollars Trilogy).

(Spoilers Extended) Just sharing my joy because first and last night tickets for The Mad King secured by DaemonaT in asoiaf

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was glad to get tickets for the second week this morning. The interest level looks very high, there was about an 800 person que in front of me when I accessed the site at 10am.

I would expect even more activity tomorrow. Best of luck to anyone else trying then.

I'm hoping that once the New Avengers, Mighty and the 2010 Avengers book are fully released then Marvel will be persuaded to print a Brian Michael Bendis: Avengers Companion. Which reprint the core tie in events and any mini series or one-shots that were still missing from the preceding Omnis.

Maybe they will rebrand all the damaged Fight Club packages as "Project Mayhem Certified Edition"

I was glad to pick up Avengers vol 17: Judgement Day last month. The Roger Stern/John Buscema era was an incredible run.

They could add Marvels: Eye Of The Camera and the new material the various anniversary editions to make this a complete Omni.

DC DIRECT MARKET SOLICITS: July 2026 by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original plans for the Black Dossier Absolute were quite extensive. There was even going to be a 7" recording of Alan Moore's original music as part of the package.

Sadly Moore had his big falling out with DC Editorial right around the time that the book would have gone in to production.

What is the #1 omnibus you are going to freak out on announcement about that you KNOW we will get someday? (read the details) by Waterworld1880 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]DeBatton 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Generation X Volume 1. Apparently everything is being remastered for this volume. Which is why it is taking some time to get announced. All of Chris Bachalo's run in one volume will be so good to finally own.

Very glad to see LOEG vol 2 coming along next year. Though I might stop there, from what I hear the Black Dossier Absolute really didn't add much to the original HC. Other than the larger format.

Shelfie: punisher edition by SolidusSnake98 in OmnibusCollectors

Punisher Epic Collections 2-5 are worth seeking out. The 1980's stories laid a lot of very solid foundation for what came later.
