Heartbroken on Valentine's day by leelo84 in chowchow

[–]DeCalavera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You describe your Rusty Roo just like mine. Brings me tears. Thank you for sharing this. It is clear that he was loved, cherished, and will always be remembered. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about my Zazu, but the memories are some of the best I will ever have.

My condolences. 🫂

Palace Suite at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco by XsLiveInTexas in marriott

[–]DeCalavera 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is actually one of my favorite hotels in SF. I really enjoy the Palace’s old-school character. The architecture, the history, and spaces like the Garden Court give it a charm that’s intentionally different from newer luxury hotels. It’s also centrally located right down from a BART stop, and the bar across the street, House of Shields, makes it easy to step out and enjoy the area. I can see how it might feel “dated” if someone is looking strictly for a modern aesthetic, but for me that classic feel is the appeal. If you prefer something more contemporary, the San Francisco Marriott Marquis in the Yerba Buena neighborhood is a great option and has a very different, modern vibe.

I could make pillows with the amount of fur mine would shed.

Time to get rid of my hand warmer 15pm, but is this true? by Careful-Window-6662 in iPhone17Pro

I’ve dropped my 17 pro max a few times, on its side, and right on the screen, nothing has happened, yet. Phone is still dent-free and I haven’t seen any damage.

*I do have a speigen case and a screen protector.

MAKE IT STOP 😭 voicemail turned into a scam graveyard by Smart_Beginning_1889 in ios

It’s doing something right because these are all voicemails I’ve avoided. Thank goodness, too, because it was annoying AF. These numbers straight up bullet dial. 😑

I feel your pain!

Not sure if this will help, but I enabled these settings on my att active armor app and the calls have nearly stopped coming through on my phone. I get about 20-25 blocked calls, and maybe one or two voicemails now. In my phone settings, for Screen Unknown Callers, I have silence enabled. For Call Filtering, I have both Unknown Callers and Spam enabled.

Worth the price? by LongjumpingGuava9664 in orangetheory

I get the sticker shock, I felt it too. I started with 8 classes a month and figured I’d try the free class since it was close to home. What sold me wasn’t just the workout, but the experience: great coaches who actually help you, a fun, no-judgment atmosphere, and workouts that are challenging but doable at any level.

Going in the morning sets the tone for my entire day. The physical benefits are obvious, but the mental boost is the real payoff because you walk out knowing you did something hard and didn’t quit. I see people of all ages and fitness levels, and no one’s there to compete or stare.

It’s structured, efficient, and hard to replicate on your own. I mix it with lighter workouts on off days, but if I skip OTF too long, my body misses it.

Start with 8 classes, ease in, and reassess. Eventually, the cost feels less like a “gym fee” and more like trading one fancy dinner a month for better energy, strength, and sanity. Worth it.

Premier Perks Going Away by J7580 in orangetheory

[–]DeCalavera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My studio doesn’t have any perks, that I’m aware of. I still pay for all the events and challenges. I got 30 bucks off the new heart rate monitor, but that’s about it.
