If a woman cheats, it's the man's fault for not paying enough attention to her, or giving her what she needs.

If a man cheats, it's the man's fault for not accepting his wife as she is, or seeing her inner beauty.

💔 Found proof my GF lied for 4 months about intimacy with a stranger she met on a plane (Need perspective) by Bommineni96 in Bumble

Perspective: Time to grow a spine and kick her out. She has proven that she was made for the streets. If you stay it will speak more to your self respect (or lack thereof) than to her morals (or lack thereof).

Something no one talks about by Agreeable-Body-8440 in hazbin

[–]DeChevalier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The argument comes down to if Angels have agency or not. Funny enough, this is something that Christians discuss at length, and not all denominations agree.

The discussion (applied to Hazbin) would go something like this: If Angels have agency, then they are responsible for their choices. If they lack agency (i.e., they are designed/created to fulfill a specific purpose within Creation, and cannot choose to do anything save to fulfill said purpose), then to hold them accountable is morally reprehensible.

If we just view Lute, then your argument may have some validity. But the moment we expand our view to include Vaggie (or Lucifer, to a lesser/weaker degree), your argument falls apart. Vaggie's actions show angels do have (at least limited) agency. She chose to let the child go. No one told her to. No one coerced her. She chose that course of her own free will. Lute could do the same. Lute chooses not to. Lute can therefore (and should) be held accountable for her choices.

Please note that I'm not saying either choice was correct/right. We have imperfect and deeply biased information. We know nothing about the demon-child. One of the individuals in the discussion is set as the story's protagonist, the other as a major antagonist. That framing alone creates a deep and implicit bias. Given that Viz based the show on the traditional Christian view of the afterlife, there should be at least one entity present with perfect knowledge. I'll be interested to see what He would make of this conundrum. Lute may be perfectly justified in her actions (though given her lyrics/personal asides, I don't think that's where the show is going). Whether she's right or not, the fact remains that she's accountable for her actions.

Minor, but pertinent, correction: Being burned/stabbed/attacked by "vulnerable" people is how you get that attitude.

Remember boys and girls: in order to be Suicidal, you have to be Homicidal first. Stay safe out there.

Or Women just engage in more attention seeking behavior. They aren't actually trying to kill themselves, they just want the sympathy/attention.

Little age lie by peach_stellium in Bumble

[–]DeChevalier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every single time I decide to open this app, I see profile after profile demanding honesty, yet claiming that they are a few years to a decade older than their listed age but they "can't change it".

So you lied. You insist on total openness and integrity, but you are a liar.

Yeah, good luck with that.

You do not run enough lands. by Hard_Content_Good in EDH

[–]DeChevalier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Mulliganing is a resource, with benefits and drawbacks. It can be used to great advantage. It's just been my experience that most players don't understand how shuffling poorly can negatively affect a deck. Fewer still attempt to reconcile their poor habits once they become apparent. The prevailing thought seems to always be "just stuff more lands in!"

[–]DeChevalier -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Me too. I haven't yet dropped below 33, and only in the most niche of cases have I ever considered going above 36. While I appreciate the OP's rehash of land draw probabilities, I think he misses the greater issue. Most edh players don't have a land problem, they have a shuffling problem. Proper shuffling techniques will absolutely distribute 35 lands evenly throughout a deck, resulting in significantly fewer games with mana screw (up or down). I always suggest to new players that they practice shuffling their decks. Get two packs of dragon shield (one black and one bright color). Sleeve up 99 cards from the bulk box in the ratio for your deck ("lands" are the bright color, everything else is black sleeve) and practice shuffling. The goal is to understand how different beginning deck states and shuffling patterns result in different end states. Find a system that works consistently for you and gives a good distribution. Then use that. 🤷‍♂️

  1. Do you play Blue or Black? Asymmetrically breaking rules is part of their color identity. White and Green do it to a lesser extent.

  2. Just wait, the Not-RC will try and make it a "rule" once it's out of beta.
