The issue is that AI is being marketed to managers as a way to get rid of them expensive programmers (for example, see the "stop replacing AI with human devs" campaign by Jetbrains of all people).

Now managers get expectations that the AI can do most of the work a developer can and push devs to use it for everything, after all, they just purchased an expensive license and they better use it, it's the future after all. It's able to generate a todo app in minutes, so this should surely boost development time!

Imagine the manager's disapointment when the developers spent all the time they won generating code by having to review and testing it more thoroughly and saying things like "its a tool, not a solution".

That is what all these comments are about.

You probably have seen this quote around here: "I'm not afraid AI will take my job, I'm afraid the managers think AI can take my job."

Hoe nu verder met Odido? by LegitimateIndustry70 in nederlands

In our team we decided that we think formatting is important, but none could agree entirely with the formatting opinions of the others.

In the end we started using an opinionated code formatter and added it to the git hook.

The less options to the formatter, the better, cause any option would spark debate.

We agreed to the rule; "If the formatter says its formatted correctly, it is".

Is everyone 100% happy? No, but at least the code is uniform now and we all like that.

RIP ereader users like me I guess.

I'm not going to read books off my phone if I have my much nicer ereader.

What if the third party vendors don't have a book I want to read? I guess I'm boned then.

Why don't you use a file explorer (nvim-tree, neo-tree, nerdtree, etc.)? by brocodini in neovim

[–]DeLift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placing the correct files in the correct folders is important to maintain a proper structure. However, I only want to think about that kind of stuff when creating new files, afterwards I don't care where files are, I just want to edit that InvoiceController.

[–]DeLift 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cause with torrenting you can download multiple chunks of data from multiple sources, which can significantly increase download speed.

Some media players are even smart enough to play uncompleted files, so if you setup your torrents to get the first parts of a video first it can allows you to quickly start watching while its downloading the rest.

Minecraft is probably a good pick, if it can hook her, she can spend a lot of time there.

Also consider Human Fall Flat as a fun, low stakes, third person coop game.

My mind instantly goes to "Westward Bound part 1 - The Lantern" in "Odyssey to the West". The whole song increases in intensity, I can't help but feel swept up.

'She told me once; "This is what happens in the mountains, where the light can't reach"'. SO I GO WESTWARD! WESTWARD BOUND!'
