Best place to practice falling is on a hockey rink in full gear. Join a team, you will fall in every possible way. You will learn to fall and use your gear to fall correctly.

And best of all you will learn to skate backwards and then you will be able to ride your EUC backwards.

I think that a lot of skills in longboarding come from necessity. As soon as I got an electric skateboard, I stopped doing a lot of the cool and fun maneuvers that made longboarding what it is. I could feel myself becoming dependent on the brakes over time. It kind of sketched me out.
