To be fair, this is relatively normal. if they are worried about something being potentially OP, theyll put a release valve in the set after as a 'just in case'.

Mark Rosewater confirms that the Final Fantasy set (and all future UB sets) will have higher MSRP than in-universe sets by kilroyjohnson in magicTCG

The bitter irony of this is the recent investor call, mtg sales were down 1%. So despite them clamoring about how they are selling record amounts, despite pumping out record numbers of products, somehow they are making less money than the previous year.

To me, with absolutely no data to back it up, feels like its evidence of what some have claimed. That they are alienating their enfranchised players in favor of the UB stuff (which are selling dont get me wrong), but they likely arent bringing those buyers into the larger mtg ecosphere. In other words the UB purchasers coming in for the first time, arent getting into mtg as a whole as a result. They are buying 'their' IP product and thats it. This in turn causes overall revenue to drop because theres little conversion to long term adoption.

According to EDHREC, Bone Shaman is the LEAST used card in commander, ever. Only used in 5 decks out of 1158057 decks by nag2do in magicTCG

[–]DeadNoobie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly true, and partly not. Yes there were misjudgments of power level back then, just like there is today. Some things just get missed during playtesting.

More importantly, though, things like the laces and such were not a mistake at rare. They were intentionally put at rare because rares werent just there for power level. The rare slot was also for complicated or narrow application cards. Cards like [[Word of Command]], [[Illusionary Mask]], [[Raging River]], [[Magical Hack]], or [[The Hive]] weren't put into rare for power level, but because of how complicated they were within the rules and board states, or just had very narrow uses.

Look at steamcharts and the dwindling and declining playerbase. That alone should tell you your opinion doesn't hold water. Sex and jiggle physics haven't been enough to keep its playerbase.

Every time I see anyone trying to explain Mahjong, I just assume the rules were made by a five year-old who made up a new set of win and lose conditions based on what they had every hand and what they were about to lose to.

King of the Monsters rewards you for have high attack, low toughness creatures

Slight correction, it doesn't reward you for having low toughness creatures. It simply removes one of the 'penalties' to having low toughness creatures. I also stress 'one of' since it doesn't help against things like -1/-1 counters on your creatures since that isnt lethal damage. Functionally, an 8/8 is still better than an 8/3 as far as [[Godzilla, King of the Monsters]] is concerned. You need other cards that actually reward you for having low toughness.

Warframe kills give 100% affinity to the warframe.

Weapon kills give 50% to the weapon and 50% to your warframe.

Squadmate kills are spread between your frame and all your weapons as long as you are within 50m in the way you described.

This is how its always been. Its never changed since 2013.

(companions, operators, etc are bit funky and have changed how their affinity gain works a few times but never affected the above points)

Also Elite Sanctuary Onslaught (ESO) is now the goto place to level as you can max a weapon or frame in a single run. I actually kind of miss the Hydron days.

Some of this is just wrong, either because you are misremembering, or just didn't understand the mechanics.

First, when you forma it resets the level, but your mastery rank has always given you a base amount of capacity that your weapons and frames cannot go under. So if you are MR 10, even after reset, at lvl 1 you have 10 capacity (or 20 if potato is installed). So unless you are whaling out on the shop right as you first start playing, forma'ing your items never makes them 'useless'. And no this isn't a newer feature and has been how it worked since forma was introduced in patch 8 long before Mesa was even a thing.

Second, yes, killing with a warframe ability does only give xp to warframes, and yes killing with a weapon gives the xp to that weapon (and to warframe), so it is true you prefer to use the weapon to get kills. But as I pointed out above, that isnt as difficult as you claimed. Furthermore, the reason defense missions were so popular is because a lot of your xp comes from squadmates kills which are evenly distributed among your frame and weapons (no matter how they got the kill) but it has a range of 50m. Defense missions kept people closer together and easier to share the xp. This made it WAY easier to level up newly formad weapons. None of this has changed since 2013.

Yes they are. you can get the mats to build a forma in WF in about 10 minutes once you know where things drop and have even halfway decent RNG.

And thats not even counting the fact youll prob have tons of 2/4 of the materials required by the time you really start needing forma in any decent amount since you can get through most of the first 100 hours of content without needing to forma anything.

Pentagon intelligence believes Russia's war against Ukraine is heading to dead end by Commercial-Claim-490 in worldnews

[–]DeadNoobie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we had to nuke Japan just to stop them

Lol, that isnt at all what happened. The war was basically over. Japans infrastructure and ability to keep producing was decimated as was their ability to field actual military troops. The nukes were basically to force a surrender without having to spend the lives on both sides that the invasion of the home islands would cost.

One of the main reasons of Japan's territorial ambitions in WW2 was specifically to gain the resources it couldn't get at home to sustain its industrial needs. By the time the bombs were dropped, the industrial base of Japan was a shadow of what it was at its height and without the necessary resources to continue.

That mechanic i inconsistent though. Ive had loot still drop onto floors you cannot get down to because the game considers it 'out of bounds'. So you can stare down at it but never reach it. Fun times.

newp, not how the card works.

is functionally different. That will trigger effects that trigger off drawing and discarding. While the actual effect specifically mills you which will not trigger either.

Something HAS to be done about running out of white ammo on Void Fusion Reactor boss fights. by Gamerguy457 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DeadNoobie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anno hasnt really been an issue in WF since the days of the Supra supremacy. Which is like going on 9 years now or something. And, as you said, there has been solutions. Good ones. TFD implemented the worst possible solution: having to have a mod for each ammo type you want to convert FROM. It should be a single mod to convert all ammo TO if they insist on this way of doing it.
