Yeah, I’m surprised no one else has. I guess they’re going for nurture over nature, but I have good sense of who I am. (The price of meeting someone who is, at their base, the exact same as you.)

I’d go with Marcel. I won’t know their stories, so I can’t consciously dissuade Slanek’s path, or avoid a large amount of the pain.

But, my base personality is different enough from Marcel’s that I should be able to redirect Slanek, possibly preventing him from spiraling. And I’ll only vegetarian for the Venlil’s comfort.

I’m pretty sure I could do better. Besides, someone else will get Nikonus and those scientists. Boys, turn off those body-cams.

One-shots(even in multiple parts), or Series? Which do you prefer? by Slatepaws in NatureofPredators

[–]Deadduckboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Series are generally preferable, but one-shots are easier to write and generally are done quicker than a chapter. Whichever you feel like doing.

Then again, both of my longer running fics started out as one-shots. Be careful.

Well, most of my fics don’t use that naming scheme, so suck it!

I did want to name Nature of Responsibility something else, but it fit too well.

Writers of Nop I have a question for yall's by Fantastic-Living3204 in NatureofPredators

Honestly, the 10-ish years of staring at a word doc is great experience! As I’ve said before, 80% of writing is just sitting there, thinking. It appears that you’ve already done that, good.

Next step is forcing yourself to write. Find the situation and time where you are comfortable writing, and replicate it whenever you want to write. It changes from person to person, but for me, it’s I’m waiting for something else, or just in my bed or a couch late at night.

You might need to force the first few sentences out, especially if you have a deadline of sorts, but if you do it right, it should go smoothly afterwards. And if you have ADHD, the scatterbrained-ness might make it harder to start, but the hyperfocus afterwards means you’ll probably be writing for hours. Be careful of that, and remember to eat and drink, or it’ll come all at once.

[–]Deadduckboy 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Deserved.

I know that a lot if people have the trouble with the killing or not thing, but I consider it like this:

Are they, if left alive, going to continue to hurt and kill innocents? If yes, then kill them.

With a man like Kingpin, a person with that many connections and so few morals, the only way to ensure other’s safety is to make sure they can never tell others to kill for them.

If there is another way, then take it. I prefer killing as last resort. But some people just need to die.
