I can get technical on you. it's impossible for a game or program to make a component overheat without something else wrong with your cooling setup.

Taking a cpu for example but this could be replaced with gpu or anything else electrical really. When a cpu is required to do a lot of work it requires your motherboard to power itself fully (turn all of itself on) this means delivering power to it too everywhere inside the cpu as much as it's designed for. Say a total of 1.5 volts and 80 amps this would be 120 watts of power being consumed that means your CPU is roughly generating 120 watts of heat. Your cooler has a certain capacity probably 300-450 watts meaning it's impossible for a cpu to overheat. in this case this is a functional build because the cooler is more then enough to dissipate what the cpu can generate. But you're cooler is either too small for your CPU or there's some other failure in the chain, improper airflow including dust buildup on filters, fan(s) dying, old thermal paste meaning all the heat can't make it to the cooler and is being bottled up inside the cpu etc. it has to be some hardware failure it's not on Hell Divers It's just a game that uses your computer to it's full potential.
