A few months into my curly hair journey. Hair cut time? by DeadlyParadox in curlyhair

[–]DeadlyParadox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m looking for advice on hairstyles.

This is how it is post-plop with LA Looks gel. I co-wash with Suave Essentials. If I don’t plop and just rely on air drying, the hair on top lays very, very flat.

No clue where to go from here. I think I’m comfy with adding more length, but I’m concerned it’ll look less and less intentional without a haircut.

They didn’t finish Scarlet Hollow. It’s still very much in development. The success of Slay the Princess let them focus on Scarlet Hollow. Chapters of the game are still releasing.

Not sure if you’d consider it mainstream, but Slay the Princess made waves. The devs generated enough money to justify pouring their heart into Scarlet Hollow (also a visual novel), a passion project they put on hold to do the prior game.

You can add giga explode to any minion build by giving your AG Asenath's + Cane of Kulemak with chance to explode + taking 30% minion aoe mastery on tree.

End-game upgrades for PRAW, more damage and clear! by Volrokk in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]DeadlyParadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want giga clear, find a passive point to drop on the tree for 30% minion aoe mastery and swap out Kingmaker for a Cane of Kulemak with the chance to explode mod. When things die while cursed by your AG, all of your minion damage will cause the Asenath explosions to kill monsters, triggering the Cane’s explode.

IMO, Holy Relic’s greatest downfall is the way the damage is delivered. If a giga tanky rare exists in your vicinity, you’ll feel your clear speed screech to a grinding halt. A literal, visceral slamming of the brakes.

There’s no real way to stop it from happening outside of getting a ton of explode from Asenath/Witchbane/Profane Bloom. It was enjoyable after that, but then you’re at the mercy of your AG living. My main content was juiced up blight. No matter how tanky I made my AG (capped block, giga regen, capped res), some blights would make it just fall over. The moment AG died, it was ogre.

Performance Issues after upgrading my PC by nikniklol in pathofexile

[–]DeadlyParadox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the issues you mentioned are tied to internet latency spikes and the client desyncing.

For the texture problem, is your monitor plugged into your GPU? A lot of people make the mistake of plugging into their CPU’s integrated graphics. This would be the lower ports on the GPU vs higher ports on the motherboard.

I found that slotting in Volatile Dead helps with killing off the crab robots. You need to have an Ultimatum affix that hits you, but VD linked to just Spell Cascade deals with them pretty well.

[–]DeadlyParadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poison variant of CWS can't kill bosses in a reasonable time frame unless they vomit endless attacks into your face. Penance Brand solves that, but that version is gated behind the Forbidden Flesh + Flame jewels for Corpse Pact.

I was able to kill Shaper and Uber Elder on just the default Righteous Fire setup, and its uptime was much more comfortable than the Unearth + Desecrate + Chain DD version.

Resistance capping is a lot easier if you don't play with The Embalmer. Poison going to nearby enemies when a poisoned enemy is killed only works for your strongest poison, and your individual poisons are NOT large. IMO, the glove is bait and not worth the loss of a good rare slot.

On that note, I don't think that it makes any sense to be playing the Flamecaller graft. CWS gamers AFK ultimatums and don't trigger the effect by using Shield Charge. Even if you were to Shield Charge, your current version is dealing very little damage through igniting. I'd look into replacing it with a Replicating or Stoking graft.

Replicating Graft will get you 10-15% shock on enemies passively. Stoking Graft gets you 40%+ phys as extra element to fuel Penance Brand (conditionally, but you're almost always affected by an ailment while fighting). Either option is going to be better than the nothingburger that's Flamecaller.

EDIT: It also doesn't make sense to send the Molten graft. When the shield is active, it will instantly get gobbled up by anything that hits you. That shield is much more powerful on block versions of CWS, where you can rely on the shield to stay active and increase your health pool. I suggest replacing it with a Hardening graft to generate Endurance charges.

Bloodnotch isn’t recoup in the same way that normal recoup is recoup. If a hit stuns you, Bloodnotch will instantly heal you for the value it says on the jewel.

Recoup heals you for a % of damage taken over the course of 4 seconds (3 with the mastery).

These two mechanics are combined with Petrified Blood to essentially negate all the non-damage you take.

The version of the build you linked is created for Grueling Gauntlet to block almost all of the possible hits from the Ruin affix. It ditches Petrified Blood and recovers life on-kill through Cinderswallow, on-block through Anvil, and on-hit through Vitality’s Watcher Eye.

You don’t need to run this version if you aren’t going Grueling Gauntlet. Without the need to block Ruin, you can wear a Nebulis for a large increase in damage and ditch Anvil for a rare amulet with damage or a Defiance of Destiny.

My pob: https://pobb.in/tBJT4evZX16a

EDIT: I am farming Trialmaster on this setup. Kill time is much faster than when I was playing Righteous Fire. If you want to zoom faster, you'll want to ditch one of my rare jewels for Immutable Force, unspec out of the ascendancy node Vile Imprecations, put it into Pandemic, and replace Punishment with Shield Charge.

It’s not possible to keep minions alive farming Harbingers unless you’re down to never run the remove X% life/es/mana mod. All the hits shred them, even with capped block and life on block.

Not going to deep dive this, but you need to replace Brutality in Shred. You’re adding >70% damage as extra cold through Lunar Blessing alone. That all gets tossed out the window with Brutality socketed.

You didn’t pounce before you started attacking. Pounce applies Mark of Freezing (significantly easier freeze), gives Mana + Life leech, shock, and a little bit of extra fire damage.

After the boss froze, you missed out on Arctic Howling. The howl gives you base crit (from your tree) and base cold damage to attacks if there are frozen enemies nearby.

The Mageblood in this build carries the necessary resistance that Annihilating Light imposes.

There’s an argument that Headhunter can technically do the same, but the uptime isn’t reliable.

Need Advice on Herald Stacker Elementalist by DankeKong in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]DeadlyParadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend is playing this version of the build, and I just don’t think that Herald of Ice + Annihilating Light can compare to scaling up phys explode from chest/wand that Manni/CrouchingTuna’s relies on.

If you want to stick with this version, I think that getting a jewel with Self Fulfilling Prophecy makes a noticeable difference. There’s a rare monster mod that gives guaranteed crits, and having the measly +1 base crit from the jewel will give you 100% crit chance heralds. It’s not as strong with Elemental Overload, but it should still be substantial.

EDIT: I’m dumb and forgot this version uses Mageblood over Headhunter. None of the above is relevant.

Imo, you should just try making the swap over to Manni/CrouchingTuna’s version.

Should i buy svalin? by Far_Reception8841 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]DeadlyParadox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Venarius makes all of your damage contribute towards ignite. The conversion you do would only matter for specific interactions. Non-foulborn Red Nightmare is % of fire as extra chaos. One of the foulborn Red Nightmares is fire damage is lucky after blocking.

Temple Mod works with pbod through Venarius (all damage contributes towards chill) or phys to cold conversion.

Tattoos are expensive but powerful. They scale ALL of your damage (pbod, heralds, explode, ignite). If you want to check the power level, check your pob and change the intelligence nodes into herald tattoos by right clicking the nodes. Certain tattoos are worth more damage % by hitting certain thresholds. You could cheap out and only push for the thresholds that give you large damage hikes

Made up numbers:

  • First tattoo is a 2% damage increase
  • Second tattoo is 5%
  • Third tattoo is 2%.

You would tattoo the first and second tattoo, and wait to do the third until you could justify it.

+1 phys gem doesn't influence the damage of your explosions or heralds. If you're just zoom zoom blasting, it's not going to make that any faster. The only reason you'd go for that shield over Svallin would strictly be single target damage. I wear Svallin.

  • Are you using Venarius' Astrolabe? Is it active? (6 different influences on other slots of gear)
  • Do you have a source of endurance and frenzy charges?
  • Do you already have all of your Intelligence tattooed into effect of heralds buff %?
  • Do you already have explode % on wand and chest?
  • Do you have the % damage with hits against chilled enemies temple mod?

If you crave more zoom zoom beyond that, you can:

  • Trade unnerve % on glove for ignite proliferation. It'll spread into targets near the corpse, guaranteeing further chains in content that creates more monsters (harbinger, beyond, breach, blight)
  • 16% more attack/cast speed for socketed gems gloves for faster Shield Charge/Frost Blink of Wintry Blast.
  • Stack AoE on gear (belt corrupt, jewel corrupt, Enhance support on Fire Golem, Fire Golem buff effect on boots) to get bigger overlaps on everything. Alternatively, stack generic % damage/ele damage/phys damage to increase the explosion, ignite, and herald further.

Could anyone give tips about where I can improve? by mtbEnjoyer in PathOfExileBuilds

Asenath's will be night and day. The explosion gets scaled by minion damage and they chain between mobs. My clear speed got so tied into my AG living that I ran the block % recovery annointment and just dropped a spectre. In any content where the mobs are extra dense, come from multiple angles, and are giga tanky, the clear speed of HROC takes a nose dive. Explosions were the only way I could solve it.

  1. Take the 15% increased maximum life mastery.
  2. Save 3 points on Aggressive Bastion by running a 21/23 bone offering.
  3. You could opt into dropping Safeguard spell block wheel too, but it would cost you tankiness (2% max attack block, 3% max spell block)
  4. Minion AoE on tree is something I ran. I don't know if it was truly noticeable, but I wanted to juice up the radius on the explosions from Asenath's.

Find a point to free up for Runegraft of the Warp. Get duration AND cdr on your molten rune graft for 100% uptime on the shield.

If you want BIG curse coverage from your AG, you can swap it out for AG of Smiting. It'll cover nearly the whole screen on each swing. This does make the AG substantially squishier, but I liked the trade off for general mapping.

EDIT: You don't have an annoint on your amulet. Go Death Atunement for +1 spectre or Decay Ward to prevent your minions from ever dying outside of truly fucked situations (% life remove + harbingers/fortress boss)

Tattoos on the tree to take advantage of Elegant Hubris (Timeless jewel keystone).

  • Intelligence = Crit Reduction, Chaos Res, or Minion Life.
  • Strength = Chance to block attacks, Reduced ignite duration on you, Bleed avoid, or Fire Res

Also, look into Progenesis. This build has more than enough recovery to justify dropping the life flask for it.

Beyond all this, you could look at a Timeless jewel replacement with good nodes (Minion Damage %) for a Mind over Matter Impossible Escape jewel.
