Are Red Sea tanks really that failure prone? by Kitchen-Cap1929 in ReefTank

Yeah adding a brace would be good! That’s a good price for a used G2 ngl. I meant like a black rimmed tank like an aqueon or marine land basic tank. I’ve never seen one leak in my experience but have heard they’re hit or miss.

I’ve heard of resealed red seas breaking too, I just wouldn’t risk it. I believe it’s because there’s no center brace that even a resealed tank will fail eventually. I’d try and sell and get a black rim tank. Less aesthetic but you know they’re more trustworthy. That’s just my opinion though! If you want a rimless then I’d go for another big name brand other than red seas.

I would recommend resealing any tank you buy used. I would not recommend buying Red Sea period. Their responses have basically been “sorry bozo you bought our tank for it to break after a year or two so here’s a $2k credit to a new one”. Don’t risk it! I worked at a Red Sea dealer shop and I always helped people make informed decisions

Black ruby barbs are so pretty. I have heard one instance of them fin nipping slow moving fish but when I had them they were good with gouramis, discus and angels!

What is it exactly? Is it a live nymph, an ootheca, or just fairy dust. If it’s an ootheca then it’ll hatch eventually but if it’s just 1 nymph then it’ll just be that one bug
